Just wondering if anyone knows whether JBHIFI stocks the sennheisers, hd-25's?!
Which stores?
why would you bother?
the UK price is on par with the imported AU price. ie they have to go through 2 distributors to get to JB.
just buy them from chemical records.

within 7 days of purchase full refund, anything after store credit. (headphones still in box, receipt)
now to find that receipt...
whats wrong with the HDJ-1000's? there fine in my opinion they sounds great and are comfy as.. compared to sony's. And I don't see them breaking anytime soon as long as you dont sit on them, let your dog chew them, throw them at your noisy next door neighbor etc..

Why would you bother with 'em when you can get HD25's from Chemical???
cause there cheaper :)
but my point was if you already have them why bother changing them?

There's not much price difference between HDJ1000's from JB HiFi and HD25's from Chemical Records...

HD25's are far better and well worth the price difference imo (even when not purchased from Chemical)... I've never seen a pair of HDJ1000's last more than a year, HD25's on the other hand are the last headphones you'll ever buy...
I've said it before and I'll say it again.... HD25's are expensive for one reason, because they're worth it...
IMO as far as DJing's concerned, they're the best headphones in the world... can't be beaten
I know there Bang for your buck and for a good reason.
I know a couple of Dj's who have had HDJ-1000 for 2 year +..
anyway I'm happy with them now anyway.
actually I tell a lie, I had a pair that lasted a year and a half or so, and another pair of that which I gave away to a mate...
I used to like 'em... until I bought a pair of HD25s...
i don't think HD25's are the only choice in DJ headphones either, but i can't think of one 50mm driver headphone that doesn't break.
I'm still pretty happy with my 1210's.

hdj 1000's are the most unreliable headphones i've ever used.
their 27th I'm guessing you'd see payment. ring them now since it'd be 11am over there.

How so may I ask?
there is one think I don't understand on the and that is the Stereo/Mono switch.. it seems like it brings the sound into the "middle" if that makes sense?? anyone willing to enlighten me :) I thought it put one channel in 1 ear and the other channel in the other ear.. but doesn't happen for me

tracks are writtien so the sound isn't exactly "centred"... I'm not sure of the specifics but vocals might be a little to the left, mids a little to the right etc... Long story short is it gives the sound more depth...
this is why we listen in stereo... Mono just combines or "centres" that sound...
^^ Yeh thats actually what i was thinking just before in the car, was going to put it in my post but thought it sounded a bit odd lol but obvioulsy it wasnt.

Stereo is two seperate channels, left and right. Sometimes there may be different sounds played on each channel, like a vocal that pans from left to right. If you are using only 1 ear cup, you will only hear that channels signal. If you switch it to mono, it converts the 2 signals to 1, so that vocal that pans will be able to be hear if it's on mono and you only have one ear cup. It's probly a good idea to use it but no biggy if you don't.
Meh, just put the cans on my head and there's no need for it lol.

Sorry, but HD-25s are the only option when it comes to DJ headphones. I use mine not only for mixing, but for everything else. They are truly worthy of their hype and fame, and I have to say, are by far my most prized possession, exceeding even my watch and MacBook, which is saying a lot.
Here's a pic, just for the sake of it:

That is an incredibly ignorant post. Such sweeping generalisations.
They are a good DJ head phone, the best... Doubtful. I can think of several other brands and models of headphone that shit all over HD-25 for similar price point.

We'll there's not much you can do. Rest is recommended during the acute phase of the infection, but activity should be resumed once acute symptoms have resolved. Nevertheless heavy physical activity and contact sports should be avoided to abrogate the risk of splenic rupture, for at least one month following initial infection and until splenomegaly has resolved, as determined by ultrasound scan.
But don't be too worried.
Fatalities from mononucleosis are extremely rare in developed nations.
(FYI. Infectious Mononucleosis = Glandular Fever = 'Mono' in America)
don't know about you but i don't have too many mono vinyl.
No but I bet he monitors with only one ear in his headphones :P:P
I don't think they're the only option, but I do think they're by far the best option, and I wouldn't recommend any other...

Beyer Dynamic for one. They are a stick out for me as great value for money.
DT 770PRO are a nice example, I would probably go for the 880's for DJ'ing being a semi open designe meaning you will get some sound from outside the headphones for monitoring purposes. I.e. Booth monitor.
They aren't as svelte looking as the HD 25's but they sound very fucking nice.
hd 25 are like i indusrtry standard so far i am yet to hear a complaint about them do the swap
i don't like them. quite a few people don't like them actually, but most will accept they're a good piece of kit.
ohnoes!

quoting yourself is the ultimate gayness.
yes they are awesome cans, but the fanboi-ism around here makes me a bit sick, just like the pio-fanboi's when it comes to cdj's. there is other options out there, and HDJ-1000's will last if you look after them (i've had mine for 2 years and still going strong now). you may not think they are any good, but at the end of the day, who the fuck are you?
:stroke: :stroke:
but at the end of the day, who the fuck are you?
Not a pioneer fanboi obviously
I used to have a pair of the same headphones bracko owns, after about 6 months the left ear piece stopped working all together. I had a choice, throw them out and buy a new set and risk it happening again, or throw them out and get HD25s which if the ear piece breaks on, i can just buy a new ear piece rather than a new set of cans.
The only other headphones i would consider buying again outside of HD25s are Sony MDR-V6 headphones.
90% of the US house djs i've met use them and swear by them. Derrick Carter & Chris Lum have both told me that they've been using the exact same pair for well over 10yrs with pretty rough handling and they're still going strong.

that's a warranty failure. electronic shit fails sometimes, so that's why there's a.... WARRANTY!
:P
5-6 years on and mine are in perfect nik.

They're a fucking top piece of kit, that's why everybody praises them. It's not fanboi-ism, it's just that every cunt likes them cos they're shit hot really.

Mine were 2nd hand when i got them. Even with the warranty tho, it would require me to send the headphones off somewhere to get repaired or replaced, leaving me without cans for however long it may be.
Either way i've had my HD25s for about 3yrs now and i've yet to have an issue with them. Only thing i dont like is the lack of coiled cord. Now they've released a version of the cans with it i'm hoping the spare part will be available in the near future.
^^ So today we learnt not to buy 2nd hand headphones

Ordered my Sennheisers from chemicalrecords yesterday, selected the money deposit option. I e-mailed them and they reckon it should come to about $280 once ordered. Price sounds alright?! ALso is it better to pay by credit card or wouldn't it really matter?!
thanks

HD25's are my option. Ive got broken Pioneers and technics at home because I went for the looks! I lined up at DJ Wharehouse for an hour at their Grand opening and paid $190 for the HD25's.
re: Franklin, pay with credit card so you get purchase cover.
Why do people say HD-25's are ugly? I rekon they look cool.. plus i don't know why people by stuff for the looks.. i mean like some things sure but headphones who gives a fly bee's wax?

saying something is ugly is completely different from overlooking them for this fact.
i think kate moss is ugly, but i'd sure tap her
Why would u tap her if you think she's ugly though...
Why would u tap her if you think she's ugly though...
She'd prolly give you free coke if you were a decent shag...
Lol but still, you wouldnt go to the extreems to boinking someone you think is a dog just for some coke... unless you were some homeless addict..

my point is:
http://www.business2000.ie/images/case_studies_6th/coca_cola/ad1.jpg
Lol thats what i was saying though... You wouldn't buy something mainly just for the looks... its how they perform.
Headphones come down to personal preference.
I've got a pair of HD25's which i've had for 2 months and their sound quality is great, they also block out alot of external sound which is great at big events and club work.
Prior to the HD25's, I used the RPDJ1200 headphones from Technics, I still have these and have been using them for 7 years....not one problem at all.
The Technics are more comfortable, I also believe they have better bass than the HD25's, but the HD25's are much more crisp in the top end and block out alot more sound.
I'm sure the HD25's will become just as comfortable once i've had them for 7 years and mould to my head shape.
Pioneer headphones have always been regarded as second rate, they are so heavy and dont match the sound of the other two listed above.
Recently headphones are becoming super cheap....i've seen HD25's at many places for $270and got my pair at the djwarehouse sale for $190.
paying $400 for DJ headphones is just stupidity. i couldn't justify it when i bought my technics (before i knew about chem records) and i wouldn't do it now. I'd even think twice about falking out close to $300.
Valid point Bracko, it certainly helps to look around.
I still would recommend a good pair though, no point going for a cheap pair that dont cut it just to save yourself $50.
Chem records, is this a store which you guys often use?

... if there's one thing better than free coke, it's gotta be doggy style
I'd go for the pair that was $50 less if you couldn't afford it.. and look after them really well.. i think that could be one problem people have with pioneer and technics.. they don't look after there gear.
