hello there ladies and gentlemen!!!

Members of foreign dub bring to you a new night of extravagance!

"STRANGE FUNKY GAMES & THINGS"

A night of soul, funk, hip hop and everything in between. we'll be playing wax
from sly & the family stone to stones throw records, from the bar-kays to the sultry mr isaac hayes, from sharon jones & the daptones to j.dilla, from . . . well, i'm sure you get the picture.
We will be bringin in the next couple of months a monthly "event" night were we will showcase live bands, open mic nights, street art exhibitions and anything else we can think of, we will keep you updated on that one.
Also keep ya ears to the ground for a mixtape/flyer we will be circulating around the scene which includes a mix from our residents B.Hopps & Samson.

Every Thursday from 9pm till late,$3.00 baron's from 9 till 10 at the Hampshire Hotel
91 Parramatta rd Camperdown right next to Ray's outdoors.

It is named after one of my fave tunes . . . Jay dee's strange funky games & things
. . . or even love unlimited orchestra's version. The changes and bridges in Jay dee's
knocks me every time and the strings in love unlimited's is just pure gold lust. he he he . . .

yeah i love kenny dope's volume! mixed well, but i seemed to listen to the unmixed cd's more, it's mixed in a kinda hiphop style with a fair bit of cutting /scratching...i like to hear all the tune! dj spinna's one is a good too.

We've postponed the night for a couple of weeks . . .

But, are coming back to launch the Janny Casanova band. She's the lead singer from rastawookie and is sounding dope! A good 7 piece with a heavy hip hop, soul, jazz influence.
I've heard some of her stuff and it reminds me of some pete rock productions,
which is always good to the ear. We'll have free mixtapes at the door, it will be 10 bucks
entry and me and samson will be supporting. I'll have the proper info for y'all by next week . . .

And yeah, those comps we're a big influence in this night. I love soul and i love hip hop and couldn't see anyone really doin' it honestly . . . if i'm wrong . . . . let me know.

P.S. That herbie hancock tune, stars in you eyes, does anyone know which album it's from?
I've done searches on discogs and everything but can't find it . . . boo bloody hoo.

bhops, im definately keen for this to start up. i havent been yet, because i didnt hear anything else in this thread. but please keep us all posted....

in regards to herbie, the only album i have of his is head hunters, so cant help you there....
