Hey guys,

I'm looking to buy a dj set of my own (im a noob), and my friend is willing to sell 2x cdj800 mk2 and dxm-09 for $1200. Is it worth it? also what should i look for when inspecting so i know that there isnt anything wrong with them..

any input is appreciated, cheers :thumb:

Pretty nice price if they are in good condition.

if the CDJ 800's are the Mark 2 model then your laughing!
and if not, sell them on ebay and you might make a $300 + profit

spin the jog wheels & make sure when you spin forward/back at all speeds the track speeds up & slows down accordingly. try all different formats of audio/cd & make sure they load/cue/play correctly.

for the mixer listen to the volume the faders give & make sure the sound doesn't leak at minimum or die at maximum, & that all the faders give the same volume at the same levels.

best if you can borrow them to use for a decent mix & see if you run into anything that doesnt add up.
theres heaps of aspects you could test but the ones above are what ive experienced trouble with in the past.

^^What he says, plus try to push down the platter and see if it comes up again, if it doesn't move down and up, the jog pressure switch is FU.
On the mixer try the high mid bass knobs, see if they don't make funny noise when you turn them up and down, try slow, and fast and in between.
Look if all the gear is 220v, if they are on converter(s) they have a cheaper resell value.
Ask your friend where he got the gear from, and how old it is...if it is stolen gear they is always a possibility that if the police somehow find out, the gear may be confiscated with no compensation.

Other than that, it is a good price...
