Connecting a KP3 to a DJM800 - a couple of questions

Hi all

Im trying to connect a Korg Pad 3 to my DJM 800 - Ive followed the instructions with the connection - a plug from the return of my mixer into the line-out of the KP3, and a plug out from the send of the mixer and into the line-in of the KP3.

Ive turned everything on, but I am having two probs.

1 - The effects are not coming back through the mixer and out of the master (ie cant hear them out of the speakers). When I plug headphones directly into the KP3 I can hear the effects fine so I know its a connection problem.

2 - Rather than making effects on the master sound, for some reason it is only doing the channel I used for the previous track (ie if I have mixed from channel 1 to channel 2 you can only do the effects on channel 1, and when I mix back into channel 1, then it will only do the effects on channel 2.

Any suggestions? Im sure I just have a plug in the wrong spot or a switch on the wrong side!

Make sure your KP3 has been switched to "direct" on the back, instead of "send".

Also make sure (1) the effects selector on your DJM is on "send/return" (2) you have hit the orange button, and (3) the wet/dry knob is on half way. In addition double-check the channel selector on the DJM effects section - is it on channel 1 or 2 or master?

All fixed now. Thanks heaps for that - I didnt realise the KP3 is essentially one of the effects of the DJM800 - I thought it was completely separate.

Next time Im in Queensland I will buy you a beer!
