Yet another question, excuse me if im abusing your abundance of information. :thumb:

but yes anyway..

i got my behringer truths (powered) hooked up to my mixer, but i want to be able to play the music on my laptop using these speakers. tho when i have my laptop pluged into the line in on one of the channels im getting a humming in the speakers. its fairly noticeable and frustrating as all hell.

just wondering if you guys would have any ideas to why this is. im switching all the switches to line, but i cant seem to find the problem. also tried different cords.

im using a 3.5mm jack to RCA.

is there maybe something i could buy that would eliminate this?

Test something for me: Unplug your laptop from the wall and let me know if the hum goes away.

^^ indeed your mixer and computer are creating a groundloop.

as a rule of thumb you should try to never have your laptop plugged in when using it for direct sound in or out, but in reality that's never as easy as it sounds.

You need a ground loop isolator...Its a common problem with Laptops and Audio Output/Input

Go to ebay and type in : " NEW AUDIOPIPE GROUND LOOP ISOLATOR" $12AUD :)

A set of balanced TRS <-> XLR cables fixed my hum problem.
