Anybody own or have used one of these? Seems it would make life much easier when wishing to loop the outro or into of a tune on the fly.

en'oath mate ^^^

Watched a video of richie hawtin, mixing in a new track, loops the other one and then lifts the needle off the turntable keeps the loop going and continues to mix......... pure class

Yes I have one - it's part of my mixing routine now, kinda feels strange when I play in booths that I can't easily plug it into. Works extremely well with the Xone92 aux send/return layout, but still does fine job on any mixer out there - you just have to mess around a little more with in/out levels due to the XL relying on the headphones for a signal

You can also get pretty creative with the XL by using the reverse loop function, or the loop shortening trick. If you're the sorta person who relies on bpm counters for whatever reason, I've noticed the XL's counter is by far the most stable and reliable, but I guess that's just a minor advantage considering it's main function is to be a sampler.

how long does it take to get the right bpm in such a minimal range as .1.....?

I am obviously a bit biased but....... I think they are awesome.
An essential piece of kit for anyone who is looking to spice up their mixing/remixing.
The BPM engine is rock solid!

Will be picking one up next weekend I think.

EDIT: How tight and easy is it to create a loop? CDJ loop function is a piece of shit i think, that being said I've never bothered to use it inside out.

I have the micro and it's pretty tight, it can loose sync though, and you have to power the thing on and off

Paolo Mojo was playing with one at livewire and at sweetchilli. These look like awesome bits of kit.

When you're manually setting the bpm of an effects unit like the KP3 (which has a shocking auto-bpm function) trust me, the 0.1 matters :thumb:

I just bought a SoundBite Pro and its an awesome bit of gear! But I'm a little confused by a few things like do you have to unplug it to turn it off? The manual aint that great either... does anyone know of a forum/site somewhere that could help me out a bit?

Got one a while ago on ebay I think, great little device to add to your arsenal but make sure you have a spare channel on your mixer.

^ If not you could hook up via send/return if you have that.

I do, but already busy with the kp3...definitely will need to update the mixer...when some $$$$ come my way.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

or a cdj

Unlike CDJ & EFX you can grab loops from up to 8 different parts of the track. That way you can do a live remix.
You can also loop more than 1 sound source.
That way you can have 2,3 or even 4 (depending on how many channels you have on your mixer) sound sources playing at the same time & record them as 1 loop!

Like I said earlier I am a bit biased.

I'd love to add something like this to my setup (or the KP3). Still havnt perfected the basics tho so it'l just distract me at this point...

but DAMN talk about (apparently) useful and versitile! ('apparently' til i play around with it and confirm/disprove the assumption)
