Just got GTC2002: Tokyo and Geneva and it's pretty damn good...
If you were wondering whether or not to get it I'd say do, It's only $70 for a game with more cars than GT3, however there is no GT mode, only arcade however this allows for pick up and play...
plus some of the concepts are funny...

How does the V35 Skyline GTR play?
This car will OWN everything once it comes out.

I've only used the GTR concept in the course licence test thingy for Autumn Ring and it is pretty sweet, the only problem i have with it is it seems too big, the pace car is an R34 GTR and it looks too big next to it...
I've not tried the new Skyline itself though... it looks like a Camry and I don't like it... why oh why did Nissan ruin such a great franchise by returning to the Skylines roots... the Family sedan...
Another beast of a car, though it's a supercar (like Lamborghini etc...) is the Cien... 789BHP MR top speed 380kmph WITHOUT tweeking...
unfortunately the game seems mighty small due to the percentage counter under the game status, I'm at about 35% after only about 3 hours of play, but then the percentile is based on:
passing test,
getting gold on test,
1st in a race on Normal,
1st on a race on Professional
for each track (10 i think, 5 forwards and 5 reversed) not on driving every car...
Yeah, I meant the GTR concept, the sedans are gay.
Each successive GTR has gotten bigger, but with more HP and better technological thingys.

just unlocked the POD race... very farkin farny...
6 toyota pods racing around a small track getting happy and sad... hehe is there anything funnier?
i looked at this game the other day.. great graphics for a ps2, but its still pixelated around the edges. i wish this would come out on xbox.. it needs a solid driving game.

as of august (next month), nissan japan will be ceasing production of R34 GTRs with a limited edition run of the "R34 GT-R Nur" (Nurburgring) optioned vehicles which are factory modified GT-R M Spec's or V Spec II's. They will feature steel turbine wheels (as opposed to the ceramic), stronger crank shaft and main bearings (from the N1) and should produce a minimum 450bhp. The aesthetic limited edition features will be gold cam covers, a gold chassis plaque and a 300kph speedo.
it's rumoured that they're going to begin production on a new line just called "GTR" (no more skyline badge). i've seen a concept & they look mean. too bad they'll probably have a V8 in them - no more RB26DETTs :(
Actually, rumour has it that the Jap-spec ones will have either a single or twin turbo V6, whilst all export models will have the rumoured V8's as to make them appeal to the yob markets, IE- the largely dumbass "V8's are best" markets of here, and America.
For shame, Nissan.:p

yeah i'd heard that rumour too but last time i had a look for info it seemed as though they were going for the v8.
if they bothered to do their research they'd realise how popular the turbo cars are esp in australia atm. america wants them bad too but there's only one company allowed to import them into the US & coz of that are pretty expensive. suck shit america :)
the RB26 is a proven powerhouse that can withstand the torture of endurance racing & sprint racing, so i have no idea why they even considered something else.
Apparently its to do with Japan's new emission laws, theyre redesigning all their engines to suit, so no more SR20 either.
NOOOOOOOOO!

As far as i know the Nur spec R34 is out and there is currently 1 in Queensland... there is only 1 in Australia because they are shit expensive to import.... about 200K
The new Skyline (V35 i believe) has changed shape and target demographic by becoming a family sedan... in fact it is in GTC under new pacific cars... it's pretty powerful at 256BHP but still looks like a Camry
The GTR concept is also in GTC but has to be unlocked by winning the Midfield II professional race or the LM (race) version by getting a gold licence on Autumn Ring...
Also due to emission control, they have also terminated production of the Silvia (or 200SX) line... these will likely be replaced by the 350Z, based on the Z concept in GT3 if you don't have GTC to see the final product...

200SXs will still be produced in australia i believe. they're only ceasing it in japan. they'd be stupid not to as it's nissan australia's sports car.
Nope, theyre getting the axe, and the 350Z will be in.
There will be more Silvias, starting with the S16, but they wont be around for a bit, as Nissan will develop a new engine for them.

also remember any production car out of japan is limited to 206kw

Well....Its unwritten decree and industrial agreement that no Japanese manufacturer offers passenger car models with engine output greater than 206kW (280 bhp).
It is voluntary.
The 330kW Skyline GTR M-Spec NuR sorta blew the 206kw 'rule' outta the water... (http://www.nissan.co.jp/GT-R/R34/0201NUR/)
