Sorry guys if this has been done before. I couldnt find any thing on it.

I been looking for to buy a cdj 1000 but i have been offorded a mk2 for a really good price. I have been told that mk2s are much more popular then the mk3 because the mk3 are like plastic.

does any one miss not having mp3 support.

is the jog adjust really that important?

sorry about spelling thanks for your help

yeah they feel exactly the same? except that you can adjust the jog dial's tension on the mk3 which is the only way it would feel different. The jog adjust isn't really important at all, just an added feature - the brighter display etc helps though but definately not essential.

if its a good price get teh mk2, nothing wrong with them at all. Plus if you burn all your discs to mp3 format you'll be at a loss when you get to a gig that doesn't have mk3's available.

Depends on how you like to organise your CDs. I like to flick through my CD wallet looking for songs and would HATE having a disc rammed with hundreds of tracks in different MP3 folders. And as Nick said you won't be able to play your MP3 discs at a gig with older models of CDJ. I've got an MK2 and love it to bits :thumb:

mk3 for the epic waveform display.

mk3 for the epic waveform display.

took me a while to get used to that when the mk3's came out.

whichever you go with DON'T burn your cd's in mp3 format. not everywhere you go to have a mix will have mp3 compatible cd players.

^^ plus mp3 waveforms load as they play, so the waveform is useless. which especially sucks when youre playing b2b with someone who plays weird shit with breakdowns 1 minute before the track ends and has a variable tempo

Mk2's suck. I used em at a gig.

Few points..

1. mk2's have a Crappy waveform display.
2. When angeled on stands cds fall out of the mk2's when ejected insted of sitting there like mk3's (dont know if its because the clubs were old and busted.
3. Both feel exactly the same.
4. the screen display on mk'3s look better.
