Well, what with the interest in music production and DJing here on ITM, it's time to get a dedicated production section happening...
What we need here is a team of people who have good knowledge of production and technology to do things like
* Write tutorials and articles on production techniques
* Gear reviews
* Software reviews
* Interviews of local producers
most of all we need people with ideas
so if you'd like to be a part of the ITM Music Production action, then email production@inthemix.com.au and tell us what you know and what you can do...!

phunk,
I'd be happy to do some interviews - have 2 media degrees and production credits behind me if thats any advantage!
We could have an interview, including what gear someone relies on, their ambitions, thoughts on producing and other experiences, plus a link to a few of their tracks if poss. (which SHOULD be online somewhere - not ITM though)
This could be a great way to get some exposure for all.
It would also provide everyone with more and more ideas and hints - you can never learn everything after all!
There's already a few prods on ITM who'd make excellent choices to talk to, plus a wealth of Aussie talent just starting to become successful.
I'm based in Melbourne, and whilst I may not be as much of a tech-head as some, I've been using all the gear for 4 years and have a pretty wide knowledge overall.
If your keen please contact me:
jonathansinclair@optushome.com.au
Thanks and great idea!

Gear reviews.... sweet...
a running thread for any particular bit of music goods
tips tricks etc.
australian music gear reviews are so needed to replace the spot that next music magazine once filled.
That was a good magazine too, had a bunch of "free" samples and free and sharewares every month delivered right to the door. :~(.

phunk, that avatar is hilarious!:lol:
well, all my intentions of reviewing software have been temporarily flushed down the toilet with the current dayjob workload... Sorry.
Hey,
I'd like to help. Bit too busy and underknowledgable about production gear. But i know my dj gear front to back.
I would also like to contribute any graphics or design work that needs to be done. I am fairly good in that area! So if you need any graphics optimized or some designs done for your articles just pm me!
