View Full Version : who uses a vestax vci 100?
hey guys, im about to buy a vestax vci 100 instead of the behringer 3000 and i was wondering how do u record on it and also does it work with vista? cheers
i dunno bout bcd but i use vci and audacity (the software to do the recording), im using mac instead of windows, so im not sure whether audacity could work on windows or u should check other programs.
also because my audio interface doesnt provide any recording line, so i used an external mixer and plug the recording line to the line-in on my laptop. yeah, it works, but the sound isnt perfect. haha..

vci has been working well for me, you will find yourself relabeling all the features and midimapping them the way you want, scratch wheels arn't great but your mainly buying the thing for the buttons. In bass heavy environments you may need a cloth or foam under it to stop the unit from firing off from vibrations.
Haven't used the 3000 but i had a Behringer mixer and I won't go near the brand ever again.
do u use windows vista on urs? overall do u think its worth buying? because this is new for me so im just starting off djing?
you are aware you need to buy a soundcard with this aren't you?
overall it is worth it for a solid digital gear like vci (personal opinion, hehe).. i used to own bcd2000, and i dont think it could beat vci.. but for sure it will cost u more (+ the soundcard)..
hey guys i bought the the vci today with a numark sound card cant wait to set it up and start using it.
anyway, have u bought the sound card? is it DJIO?
most people got trouble with it actually..
yeah it is. do u know what sort of problem people had with it? what soundcard do u use?
actually im using djio as well, and it always freeze while playing or even before you play.. hahaha,, all you need to do is just re install the driver and restart your computer, but the real problem is that it keep happening :meh: ..
anyway do you experience the same or it just *unluckily* happen to me? X(
fuck it!!! i will return it and get something else
I bought one on the weekend and nearly got the DJIO card but spent a little more and got a novation nio instead.
Ive never had a Numark and probably never will, their products just feel cheap and plastic and i know 2 people who have each had their ttx's drop dead as well as a Numark mixer
I just ordered a VCI-100 over the weekend... I spent a lot of time researching into the VCI-100 and was originally actually looking at the Berringer 2000, followed by the Numark's Total Control.
The VCI-300 looks good but more than what I want to spend and I cant be bothered waiting - Plus I also bought the NI Audio Kontrol 1 for production purposes as well as to match up with the VCI-100, so no need for paying for the extra soundcard in the VCI-300.
I can't wait!!!
And thanks for the tip re: cloth/foam, djryley.

just did a quick search in google(au) and found:
djwarehouse.com.au: $1,050
storedj.com.au: $1,099
spankrecords.com.au: $$1,299
obviously still pre-order! i guess the included serator software and implementation as well as the soundcard will make it worth it... i just don't need it.

Its tempting to buy one of these, how much better is the VCI100 in terms of build quality and cound quality are they over the behringer 3000?
