100% of ANY email i get regarding OPPURTUNITES in the music industry i ignore

and everyone should

its like wasting your time with mp3.com charts and payment schemes

its crap

focus on the music

we got all our gigs, all our released material, all the labels we've worked with, the promoters who helped us, and our best signings (to TRUELOVE in the UK and Creative Vibes and Nine09 in Australia) through what youde call the OLD FASHIONED way

screw some stupid yank releasing unsigned artists works etc etc

another one to watch out for is ANY "competition" where you send in your music for a PRIZE such as working with a producer or having your beats used, or having your music featured on something etc etc

you will 99.999999% of the time find that these are just plans for people to rip off your music

i mean that LITERALLY such as them using it without you knowing or selling it on, and ...um... NOT-SO-LITERALLY, as in them seeing what everyone is doing, new production tricks, sampling stuff etc ect

this problem was escalating in the USA with certain "famous" rappers and their management holding these comp's and then just using the tonnes of "entries" as source material for their next album and as for the prize....

what prize?

moral = concentrate on your music and it will speak for you. there are no "NEW!!!!!" promotional techniques that beat being GOOD and using the old techniques
