i'm just starting out DJing and i want to know what decks i should get. I am looking at getting a Pineer DJM500 but i am not sure as to what is best in turntables as in price compared with quality etc...
so yeah any advice would be sweet!

stick with the djm500 I got 1 & love it!
recomend technics 1200's if u wish to play out as most clubs/parties use em & for a good reason,they're built like tanks & are proven & reliable....now the expensive part buyin records ;)
technics.
nothing less.. if you need to, dont spend as much on the mixer.

if you have the cash get 2 1210s and a vestax pmc 06 pro mixer
best setup i have ever owned (and thats a few types of craP)

vestax decks are in fashion at the moment, but they are dear, about $1100 each, so dont bother. the technics 1200's are the go, built like brick shi'touses, reliable and everyone uses them. u should be able to get them for $790-900 loaded. try central station for a good price. i've been told that stanton needles tend to pack it in pretty quickly, so maybe find out what the price diff is with the ortofon stylus'.
with the mixer, just keep it simple. big, gadgety, gimmicky mixers are a waste on the average punter, just buy a basic one by a name brand (vestax/numark/stanton) that looks good, and make sure it has a trim or gain dial. some shyte mixers only have a bass/treble dial, insist on this.
