View Full Version : Best Download website?
Hi all,
Just wondering what are your top 3 sites for downloading music? I have only ever really used beatport. Do you have any other favourites?

1. Beatport - for the majority of my music.. Sure its chock full of crap but I usually go on there looking for specific songs/artists/labels. Its really quite nice to navigate once you get used to it.
2. Juno - for more obscure songs
3. DJDownload - for their sexy full-length song samples, good for when the sample on Beatport cuts out before the critical breakdown you want to hear X(

digital-tunes.net for unpopular dubstep, turntablelab for some bmore and gehttotech woo djdownload is by far the best song prelisten website. it really depends, if you wanna dig real deep in some genres you find often the artist selling their stuff thru their own website... check the major baords of the scene and you will find everything you need

Am I the only one that has issues with half the songs I want to buy on beatport being territory restricted?
Do they do this off IP?

LOL...just you and the rest of OZ and probably a hell of a lot of other countries...
There has been a lot of discussions about this...if it's the IP and you trick it...and your method of payment is registered in Australia...then soon or later I guess you'll get caught up.
I think these restrictions all have to do with labels and deals, hopefully they know what they doing, the truth though some are losing quiet a lot of potential buyers...I'd like to think that somehow they offset this in a way...if not its their problem...

been really loving traxsource recently....best place for house, and their selection of house infused tech is so sexy....beatport is slowly becoming obsolete for me, just waaaaayyyy to much shit on there

I've been using DJDownload the longest but most of the time I use Beatport.
I stopped using Beatport when I lived in Sweden though, they have a fucking ridiculous discriminatory pricing policy where if a track is usually 2.49 USD for customers in North America and Australia, they charge you 2.49 EUR for it if you're in Europe. Their customer service people are deadshits too. Once they promised to credit me for a corrupted file (their fault) and didn't . . . another time they tried to explain my query about the pricing policy with illiterate nonsense that didn't explain anything. They didn't seem to grasp that:
1. THERE IS NO JUSTIFICATION FOR CHARGING AN EXTRA 50% FOR PEOPLE IN EUROPE.
2. SWEDEN DOESN'T USE THE EURO.
