dj mixer, simultaneous channels

hi guys

i'm thinking about buying a rackmount mixer - the dj ones are far better than the PA ones for my purposes ...

i'm guessing the answer is yes, but seeing as i've never used a dj mixer i thought i'd ask for some help here

is it possible to play all the channels at the same time?

"if i have 4 songs playing off 4 decks into a 4 channel mixer can i turn up all 4 channels and hear all 4 decks at once?"
