I thought I'd share the experiences of last weekend with you all...
Now, I have a pretty good backup routine - once a month I backup everything onto CD-R (about 30 gigs worth)
Thing is, i usually backup at the start of each month... Now, I've been going quite insane for the past 4 weeks churning out heaps of tunes and putting together heaps of samples.
Last weekend my puter crashed and I lost the lot - 4 weeks of work and about 800mb in downloads...
SO, backup often! (Which is what I'll be doing from now on!)
