I've been thinking about getting an EFX500 but today I realised that I wouldn't be able to use my current setup with it.

On my DJM400 there are 2 RCA outputs, 1 of which I run to my line in, the other to my speakers.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the EFX500 only has 1 RCA out, so how would I go about setting this up if I were to record?

Is there any reason why a $3 RCA Adapter from Jaycar wouldn't work?
Just wanted to make sure before I fork out for the EFX Unit only to find out I can't record anymore.

Connect the EFX inputs to your mixer's master outs, split the EFX output to your "line-in" and speakers

Well if you want to actually hear the effector then youll have to use the line out on the EFX 500 to connect to the speakers. But yes your only solution does seem to use a splitter on the EFX line out.

do it goes like DJM master out 1 ---> EFX line in, EFX line out ----> split to Speakers and recording

Youll need two RCA Y splitters. one for the red port one for the white one. Unless you can find a Two male to 4 female adaptor. However your probably going to have some loss in sound quality and levels, especially as its an unamplified signal.. What speakers do you have. If your going to an amp or your speakers have a pre out socket, then that would probably be a better option

Is there going to be noticable loss in quality from the split?
My speakers are logitech Z5500's

Would either of those do the trick? Whats the difference?

Actually, the EFX-500 has 2 sets of stereo outputs, RCA and 1/4" jack, and you can use both of them at the same time. That was one of the reasons I decided to keep mine. it comes in handy to splt audio output into 2 feeds.
