I have an addiction with dropping hiphop acapellas over breaks and house

the hiphop acapella has to either be around 65-70bpms, or between 115-120bpm to work with say a 130 bpm house or breaks tracks

anyone wanna reccomend any good ones that fit the above description?

I gotta say I understand why you is addicted... especially droppin gangsta stuff on some dirty breakbeat...

personal fave Dre n Eminem: Forgot about Dre... 133ish BPM so perfect for breaks...or the more ramped up house!

With time stretching and key correction you can use just about anything.

Hence Skee-Lo @ 130BPM instead of the original 98BPM.... Hey you whats that sound, everybody look what's going down.

This site is a good one for sampling ideas...

Without Me by Eminem has to be by far the best acapella for dropping over house and break tempos.

I don't think so, i don't know the precise BPM, but yeah the beat sounds slow because its pretty simple.

I think its around the 123-124 mark. I used to mix it in with "its tricky" and the tamperer "feel it":stroke:

Mixed in key puts it at 129bpm. But since the version 4 update I've noticed it can be a bit off.

Oh deary me, Scotch.

Agreed "Come Said the Boy" is a Fox FM song. But acappella layered correctly over another track could sound awesome. Think about it... maybe not the whole song, but just the chorus once or something.

imo some of the best acappellas are old school 80s tracks that everyone knows.

My bad, it is around the 129 mark, I dont know why I was thinking it was slow, maybe cause the track I mixed it into was slow... who knows:what:

I love normal raps or lyrics in Hip Hop or DnB. But think that rapping or singing in songs at around 130 BPM sounds shit. Most lyrics just don't seem to fit right. Its either way too fast or way to slow. I was talking to a mate about this exact subject and I had to agree with him that the best raps or lyrics over songs at that BPM are stuff like Technotronic.

Now, now I know what ur thinking, Technotronic songs are way cheesy and played out. But they have that really awesome way of rapping in them that sounds just perfect. It's sort of to the off beat. Go on, I dare you to listen to "Pump Up the Jam" or "Get Up" and say I'm wrong.

Having said all that... the last Breaks n Enter I went to. Bitrok layered "None Shall Pass" by Aesop Rock over some mad breaks and it fucking pwnd me.

Anything in the Miami bass genre works well.

Aaliyah/Timbaland - Are You That Somebody "Dirty South Can ya'll really feel me" I've used a number of times.

Have hundreds at home, will have to check the names, they are fairly obscure.

A capellas of songs like that could be difficult - not many Aussie rock/pop bands in the 80's embraced the remix/pell culture as much as Europe or the US. INXS, Geisha, Kids in the Kitchen, Pseudo Echo, Wa Wa Nee, a few like that perhaps. But Ross Wilson and Eric McCusker are old blues guys, not dance.

This guy might be able to help - he runs a big blog site of 80's and 90's music. Has feature page on 'the modern bop', the album Come Said the Boy was a single on, plus a rapidshare d/l ;)
