View Full Version : CD Wallets??
I'm in the market for a decent sized CD wallet.. ATM I'm using the freebies that come with the UDG bags but would rather take one decent sized wallet than 4 smaller wallets..
I'm quite rough on record bags n shiz like that and if it's possible to break them, I probably will...
Looking at one of these atm, http://www.storedj.com.au/products/product.php?id=1688 bit nervous that it says out of stock till late october, still 3-4 weeks later after late october's been, anyone know if anywhere else has got 'em?? I'd like it by next weekend if I could..
I like the idea of chuck my laptop, headphones and soundcard in so I can record if need be..

I just use a 240 disc wallet that I got from JBHIFI for like $30. It's as solid as I need it to be. I've never had a disc pouch blow out, zipper tear or any sort of F-up. For the price I'm very happy with it, and it has seen more action than a Vietnamese call girl.
i do like the UDG ones personally. you can now get them in double the original size, but they do cost.
i think if you buy 2 of the bigger UDG ones they perfectly fit in a small UDG vinyl bag (the ~80 record bags)

Yah I know that... I love the fact that UDG gear in general is sturdy, lockable and can take a good bashing as well...
You could try emailing them, they might not have updated the site. DJ Warehouse also sell them.

Slappa CD wallets also seem to be quality, but they do cost more.

which would (IMO) be better than a sling bag... they look pretty gay angus, then again, i guess that's right up you're alley :-O
I hate the UDG CD wallets. Really shitty build/quality. Flimsy, sloppy. Seriously, if they did it well, everyone would buy one, but they went the half assed way about it.
I have a really good one, solid as a rock and looks awesome too. Magma is the name I think, it's not here right now. You should only need one, it holds a lot, I think it looks really wanky if someone shows up to a gig with more than one CD wallet, unless your doing a 6+ hour set. A 1 to 2 hour set, you could nearly take enough CD's in your back pocket.

Ive been using a 300 odd disc capacity storage 'bag', that has two zippered sections I got from Office Works about 2 years ago and it has stood the test of time. It gets heavily abused weekly and have had no problems yet. The two seperated sections are good as i can carry enough tunes for light or heavy sets pretty much at all times. Also has a handle or strap if need to carry it over the shoulders. only cost me approx $30 :thumb:

what ever you do DO NOT buy the big caselogic cases they are really bad for dj'ing as the pages tear really easily

Ive got a CD hardcase from office works. The pages are real sturdy and its got 4 CDs per page and locks.
Kinda looks like im taking a rifle in pieces into the club though.

ive got one of the UDG 120 tank cases, they are awesome. im looking at getting another or possibly the slingbag as it hold 258. the lower end UDG stuff seems to be fairly shite quality but these two are solid.

I've got a 220 CD wallet from Tandy/Dick Smith cost $25, has a divider in the middle, and rivals UDG wallets.
I think the brand is "Life"
Yeah problem is the UDG factory in Taiwan shut down apparently.. All UDG shit's hard to get now apparently :meh:
check out spank.

Slappa cases are fantastic. The bigger ones are good if you've got headphones that fold in (I think Sony make a pair like that. I have the smaller ones but I saw Stonebridge fold his headphones into his cd wallet and he uses slappa cases. They are really sturdy too.
