Oh yeah I forgot about Asahi! How good is that!

In fact how good is beer! You could have a different one (or 76) each night and never run out of new ones to taste!

Anyone had a Lowenbrau Lager from the Lowenbrau Kellor in the rocks now that is one tasty beverage, their 1 letre glass is quite possibly one of mans greatest inventions.

Yum thread.

I usually purchase whatever is on special. But my fav is Crownies, without a doubt.

Beegie
08-Aug-02, 02:06pm
I despise Crownies... in fact I'd almost prefer VB over Crown (and that's saying quite a bit).

Stella, Becks and Boags are all good.

Yes MB in a longy does have it's place when short of $$$.

VB is exaktly what it stands for. Very Bad.

Grolsch is fantastik beer as is Kelkenny.

Toohey's extra suck koz they overflow all over ure toes.

k_learly knows her beer_x oxo

Depends on what I'm doing, if its going to be a fifteen schooner session then I usually stick to VB or Carlton Draught, if not the James Squire range is pretty good, Caffreys, Cascade, Steinlager, Becks ... the list goes on.

I usually steer clear of premium beers on tap as the beer is ofter stale due to less volume going through them and dirty beer lines due to under use. Whats with that Little Creatures beer, great beer, shit name.

Agree with you completely beegie, I really dislike crownies as well, I would rather a VB and I dont really like VB...

There is just something about crown, it tastes flat and stale..

stella and becks are nice but i wont drink them out of principle... way too trendy...

i prefer boags, hahn premium or cascade...

anyone who says VB, New or Crown deserve a kick in the arse...

but my vote goes for longnecks of coopers extra stout... mmm four standard drinks in one bottle :P

GUINNESS.

I voted for extra dry, mainly cause its good on all counts, taste, price, style etc.

Bobdob: you are obviously well versed in the lore of beer and i salute your choices. Agree on redbacks, however have you tried its stablemate Matilda Bay, from the same brewery.... whoa mama! definitely the best Aus beer ive tried..

Big ups to skywalker and the Duff beers that hold pride of place in his “cellar” ;)

werd berniebern.... Bintang is one fo the best beers in the world.. and SO farkin cheap.. obviously those Dutch bastards (dont get antsy anyone, im one of them) taught them something about making great beer...

from that list, becks please. although ive been known to enjoy coldies when off chops/

One of the best things about travelling would have been trying all the different beers in different countries.

theres actually a physiological difference in men and womens tastebuds that explains why lots of women dont like beer...

or something

What kind of fucked up poll is this without Guiness??!

08-Aug-02, 04:07pm
Problem with Bintang is that is just aint potent. enough.
Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that everytime i've drunk it, i've been in Bali and have undoubtably sweated it out.

since when have they always been tallies, they have always been longies to me as one of my mates is infamous for being seen on the streets with no shoes and a "longie" in hand. It's his trademark, but he is never seen with a "tallie"

Anyway, if it is on tap, I really do like VB, out of a bottle it is a bit hard to stomach, so I don't mind my Boag's Premium if I have to drink bottled beer. Try to keep the money in our country. Beer doesn't travel. It doesn't taste as good after being shipped. Imported beer is overpriced. It gets the same result and I think Australia still has some class beers. Funny story that Fosters is the most drunk beer in the world, but the least beer drunk in Australia..
