AKA Martin O:Sullivan

About myself.
I am 28 yrs old, work as an electrical tech with a local glass and aluminium company. Grew up in Mount Isa in North West QLD, left there when I was unable to handle that particular kind of trauma any longer. I:m a lefty and a vegetarian but not much of an activist. (far too lazy for that!)
My first experience with making electronic mmusic was programming a little Tandy colour computer 2 to play cheesy tunes in my early teens... but the real interest with electronica started when a group of freinds decided to go to Dragonflight 98/99. That:s when it all made sense. From there i spent the next year turning up to various doofs and clubs (another pivotal moment being Acid Disco at :La Discotheque:) and tuning into the ZZZ:s for Djam Sandwiches.
After shakin my ass off at every given opportunity I was eventually overcome by the desire to push some beats, and then syncronicity stepped in to allow me the opportunity to purchase Rolands Groovebox and Groovesampler. So between buying synths and bits, and chasing the beats and tunes from local live artists and DJs, I gained a love of most electro genres. With influences from house (not hard but) to breaks to trance to ahh whatever...
My music is melded from some of these forms with a dash of irony, references to my rock roots (LED ZEPPELIN!) my ignorance of musical structure, my whiteboy rhythm, and splashes of my pubescent interest in sci-fi, fantasy and porn, all somewhat chemically washed to produce beats and tunes still with that original flavour of tandy cheesiosity. Roots man, its all about ya roots...
Apart from hauranging my freinds with come down beats and dishing out dodgy demo discs to whoever will take them, the only dancefloor to have felt ma:beats is the floor of my kitchen...its got a mirroball but.
Despite all that, I seem to have hasssled the right people and a spot at sun@mantra this very sunday (23/6) has been delivered to me, and if my evil plan comes together, then the world...
At the moment, I am honing beats, and preparing demos to give out to more unsuspecting people...but we:ll see
Equipment I use.
Roland MC505
Roland SP808
Roland Juno 6
Roland JX3p
Korg Poly 800

You can catch MojoTek:s music on briz:b:e:a:t:s this Sunday from 1-2pm then later playing live at sun@mantra at Mantra in the Valley Mall along with Replicant for another night of quality live electronic music and DJs Andrew Fussell and Ikon.
:::::: DJ Sheep :::::::
DJ Sheep : Brisbane : San Francisco
There:s some telltale signs to know when DJ Sheep steps up to the decks.. Heads start to nod, girls: hips start to shake, dance floors starts to fill, b-boys get busy, and onlookers: jaws drop as he tears up records with his specialty transforms, flares, crabs, and beat-juggling turntablist skills.. His beats are fat and funky, his breaks are raw and dusty, his track selection:s flawless, he knows when to drop the needle, and when to add the cuts, as he creates his trademark live collage...
DJ Sheep:s knowledge and dedication to hip hop culture is widely recognised both locally and internationally. He:s independently organised & promoted the tours of international turntablists, DJ Q-Bert & DJ Disk of The Invisibl Skratch Piklz and DJ Craze & A-Trak of The Allies, around Australia and New Zealand. He is also responsible for Brisbane:s underground "B-Boy Kingdom" events that showcase all the four elements of hip-hop - live. Past performers include: Lazy Grey & DJ Damage a.k.a. Towering Inferno, Brethren from Sydney, Rapid Fire Breakers and a ton more! His new club "The Platform" is Brisbane:s only monthly hip-hop night bringing together the finest undeground hip-hop DJs, beat-digging experts and turntablists.

He:s acted as the local Scratch DJ for international hip-hop MCs J-Zone and Mystik Journeymen and for local B-Boy crews Kill At Will & Rapid Fire.
He is the creator, voice and mastermind behind hip hop label 75ark:s Turntablism.Com, DjSheep.com and the BombHipHop.Com websites. He:s spoken twice on discussion panels at Sydney:s Annual Hip-Hop Festival, Urban Xpressions. He placed first at the recent 2001 Technics Ultimate DJ Showdown in Brisbane. In 1999 he was asked by DMC to judge the prestigious USA DMC Finals alongside Grandmaster Caz (Cold Crush Brothers), DJ Apollo (Rocksteady DJs) and a host of other hip-hop legends. He:s also judged the Australian ITF Finals in 1997 alongside Roc Raida and in 1998 alongside Mista Sinista, both from New York:s legendary X-Ecutioners Crew.

For Sheep, it:s been a jam-packed last two years of travelling and diggin: in the crates around The U.S.A., U.K., Japan, Germany, Amsterdam, Italy, and France.
Besides all of those accomplishments, Sheep knows how to have fun, and is well-known as someone who doesn:t take things too seriously - except for hip-hop that is. Hip-hop is his life.
Surprisingly, DJ Sheep has not had a residency or played the party circuit in his hometown Brisbane until recently. Brisbane get ready! A new hip-hop experience is about to be unleashed! His sets featuring both the freshest and classic hip-hop music will be an education for the masses...
