View Full Version : Selling Your Gear to a Store?

I was on another forum where a guy was selling a pair of CDJ800s because he was upgrading, but he ended up selling them to the store in which he bought his new CDJ1000s from.

Anyway I'm wondering does anyone know of, or heard of any stores that will buy your second hand gear (VIC)? If so which ones. He said you can sell "good condition" CDJ800s for $800 - $850.

btw I did ask this guy but he hasn't responded.

I thought that 800s only sold for $1K new?
Sounds dodgy to me if they're prepared to buy them for that much.

Well they wouldn't make any profit off them for starters as they'd be going straight out the door at $800 again realistically after you account for staff wages, rent and other shit like that.

Dodgy because the only way they could make that work is by selling them as though they are new or ex-demo.

After wages (for buying, selling and cataloguing the product) they lose out a chunk of money.
I stimply can't see them giving you that much money, and if they are, they're doing something dodgy IMO.

Agreed. Found cdj800s on the JB HIFI website for $880 or something close to that. Maybe they only bought his old gear because he was buying a whole new setup from em. :?

Their prices are ridiculous! $1,079.00 for a CDJ400 and $2,299.00 for a CDJ1000. Is that a typo lol?

^RRPs went up, as did standard retail. Retail on a CDJ1000 is up at about $1800 again.

I'll give you $600 for a cdj800. I'm always buying em so if you need quick cash I'm here. I know its a low blow but it's the convenience. I'm aware they can fetch more than that.
