Taiyo Yuden blanks are great quality. they had a large hand in the delopment of CD technology and often go by the brand label "That's". think you can ghet em at jb hi fi and theyre not expensive at all...
just check your burn on a standard home hi fi player to see if it works and you should be right in terms of CD playablilty elsewhere...TBH ive never seen CD+R!! only DVD+R but thats completely different.

I always use TDK's and have never had a bad burn. JB's the place to get em and they're about 20 bucks for 50

that's a whole other ball game you're talking there...recordable cds never had two competing formats like DVDs did, so a CD-R is a CD-R is a CD-R.
only the build quality is different between brands: taiyo yuden, TDK golds, etc are the better quality ones. stay away from sony and kodak ones. i've had the layers peeling off from many of those one :meh:

My TDK Golds have been good... The TDK Silver printables haven't been quite as reliable, but aren't bad, either.

I buy memorex printables from big W
But really, 100 cds for $26 is fucking awesome value and have had less problems with these than i have with the TDK golds, i prefer the matt-y whiteness of these ones any day. they're not bad

+1 for TDK Golds. Never had any issues, but I make sure I burn at no faster than 8x

I always burn at the slowest possible speed just to be safe..

There are two batches of matte white printable TDKs.. both come on a spindle, but steer AWAY from the ones that are shrink wrapped - I've had these die on me halfway thru a gig :-0 The shrink wrapped ones are usually sold REALLY cheaply, like $12 for 50, whereas there is another lot which come with the hard plastic rotating lid.. usually around $22/50. I've never had a problem with the more expensive ones. Other ones I've used with no problems are TDK gold, Sony silver and Verbatim. As rich said, burn at a low speed, I stay at 8x.
Agree on TDK.. good quality and price!

Yea the TDK matt white ones are the goods but yes, you do need the pack with the hard plastic cover and are round the $20 mark :thumb:
Usually they have TDK printed in white on the inner part of them.
