Came across this description recently. So, what the hell is it? Any sick tracks or artists out there who can be classed as Fidget House?
Fidget kinda makes me laugh though...so is it one big joke or the next trance?
Lolz definitely not the new trance...
Fidget is a real genre but probably one that is losing steam atm. It could be described as really hard electro.
Some major artists are Switch or Herve. Download some Switch.

check the link. I'm a pretty big fan, but you get sick of it really fast. I'm in the process of making it work pretty well with a bit of everything else. Good for a bit of a peaktime rush. It's very 'hands up in the air and dance like you just don't care' style music.

see sadly this is why fidget is so shit. Because it's just turned into noise. Fidget was originally about combining styles, so rather than having a house 4/4 track, it was cut up and changed around. Was interesting to begin with, but has just gone down the shittest possible path, a la bloody beetroots and Crookers (crookers even did some good stuff to begin with to, all their songs and remixes sound the same now).

i think fidget is great but as matty said u get sick of it pretty quick. some great artists are - Aniki, The Bulgarian, Kyle Watson, Defunct!, Herve, DesignerDrugs, Mowgli, Kelevra & ofcourse Switch, Jesse Rose & Diplo
i'm playing at a warehouse party in two weeks
guess what i'm playing? -> crookers, mr oizo, other ed banger recs and boysnoize cuts
fidget, nu rave & dupstep works really well for warehouse parties and festivals, and only well in certain clubs...

I think the term was made by Switch and Jesse Rose when they where on the piss together talking about how funny it was that there is about 1000000000 different types of dance music and they made fidget up as a joke and the term caught on. I think it's even in the ITM videos from park life last year but i could be wrong.

Fidget is growing and expanding, its still new so artists are going different directions. Some artists have just fucked it... Crookers perfect example... Old stuff was intereresting and had some good ideas going...... bloody beetroots always sounded like mechanical noise so they were on the wrong path the whole time.
Until we stop assosciating big names for fidget with fail artists it will not grow because it is too hard to win new people over when everyone is telling them to listen to the shittest of the Genre.
Silver Fox has mentioned some great artists and ones i would demand people check out before determining they hate the Genre.

Aight, just had a listen to the Radioclit RMX link. Seems like the synth lines are unashamedly in your face and kinda over the top hooky. Ive heard that song so many times in clubs and everytime its dropped when chicks just wanna jig and dudes just wanna get loose and do the "take the piss" dance moves (lawnmower and the like) in a group wif eachother.
Great party song and I emphasize party cause i couldnt ever see myself listening to it at home like i could do with something by say John Tejada or James Zabiela.
Will listen to the other suggested artists and see what i think before personally writing it off or not.

One local DJ from Brisbane (Uber, Monestery etc)
The other as suggested is a Norwegian producer
Would love to see Aniki support Aniki, Aniki b2b for the win

switch was putting some really good stuff out back in the day. but like others have said, it's going down the wrong path and even switch has moved away from the sound.
track down a copy of switch's cover cd for mixmag to see what it was really about

Potty Mouth Music is definately the way fidget should be going. Jackin crazy ass shit should be the new genre, not fidget. fidget reminds me of deadmau5's reward is cheese...with all the bleeps and bloops.
Tom Eq, HiJack and the likes are the style I reckon fidget should be taking on. Oops, I mean it's the type of 'Jackin Crazy Ass Shit' I want to hear more of.

i didnt mind it when i first heard some of switchs remixes (such as the audiobullys one) a couple of years ago, when they were thrown into house or breaks sets. But i still couldnt listen to a whole set of it.
but the crap that is produced now, is terrible (IMO)

What's being labelled as figdget now is what I'd call electro house actually.
Big Wobbly basslines. Fidget to me was odd samples and cut up beats that went against the grain of what was being pushed in electro house. Now it's just become another form of electro house.
