Is that a piece of shit that will fall apart in a short time?
Is it worth buying a certain brand or paying extra to get a wallet that I know will stand the test of time?
Or will a cheapo eBay one (as above) be fine?
I reckon that'd be pretty shit. If you not transporting or using it much im sure it be ok. But Ive seen those things fall apart in a pretty big way lol..
240 cd's weighs fair bit.
i went through 3 el cheapo ones before i got sick of transferring like 200 cd's over everytime one decided to destroy itself. I then bought a udg 240sling or whatever, havent had to get anything else since i got it (which was 4 months ago) the el cheapo ones i bought lasted me like a month or 2 max..
so its completely up to you, i gues $25 isnt much to just get it and if it breaks get something better but if you have the money get something a bit better constructed.

^Yep - that would be my move.
You've also got to ask yourself if you REALLY need your whole record collection with you all the time...
The answer is certainly NO.

Yeah but the thing is, do you really want to shuffle your wallet week in week out?? Back when I used to play records, if I was playing an earlier set, I'd back my bag full of proggier tunes, later set, more uplifting stuff... Normally chuck in a few older tunes as well.. Bigger wallet means it's packed every time I play, and I can just add to it and shuffle out a few tunes each week..
I've got one of those big UDG CD wallets with the laptop and headphones pocket... It's fantastic but it is probably overkill for what I need it for (I only burn a few tracks per CD though so it does fill up pretty fast)..

i've seen some cd wallets that use the ring binder approach. it would be interesting to hear from someone who uses these to change their cd wallet around using this method

The thing is though, if you can fit 200+ CDs in there, why wouldn't you??? less effort than shuffling it in/out each week.. these look interesting though: http://www.storedj.com.au/products/product.php?id=2239

wouldn't be a bad idea, but i could only see that working if you burnt one or two tracks per cd, EP style

internal hard drive ftw;)
ive got a slappa with 60 sleeves that fits 240cds and they slide out so you can re-arrange or put them into a smaller slappa.
i didnt end up buying the smaller slappa because the big one fits my iriver, 3.5mm rca cable, keys and headphones. its super durable too, will last me a long time (assuming i done lose this one...) ;D
so in short, spend $100 on a slappa or similar quality and dont fuck around with yum cha garbage.
I use 2 smaller UDG wallets that hold 24cds each. They're the ones that come free with the UDG record bags, that fit in the front pouch.
Have a few of them, each dedicated to a certain genre/style.
Saves me from having to carry round a massive wallet to every gig i play, which i find really handy. Dont see much point in having a 240 wallet, unless your going to play some epic 12hour gig.

i do the same as rancho--I went with slappa and their removable squares. they call them pages but its actually the individual square that slides out. the only difference between me and rancho is that is I use their smaller cases and swap out the pages as needed for particular gigs

If you'd ever seen his hair you wouldn't be admitting to that being the ONLY difference...
Looking into getting one of these: http://www.ultimate-dj-gear.com/shop/product.asp?pid=45
Wont purely use it for DJing, but also to cart around music and my laptop.
Anyone out there use one? If so, hows it perform?

The Store DJ Ultimate CD Bag Bundle will store an amazing 560 CDs in UDG style, perfectly fitting inside this wheely good trolley bag from Ortofon!
i'd rather put my records in the trolley and carry the cd case :)

Already have a trolley bag and a fleet of other vinyl bags, so it'd kinda be a waste of money.
I like the design of the other UDG sling bag. Looks like it would work well, and something i could use to carry music/laptop around generally, not just to DJ gigs.
