Why the fuck do these cost so much?

Does anyone know a place I can find something like this to setup the laptop over my desk from somewhere else where it's cheaper?

Nah. It needs to clip onto the back of the desk so it hovers over the gear.

Otherwise I'd just sit it on the table space.

I have a pair of these - one holds laptop, one holds my VCI
Beauty of this is I can swing them out of the way when not in use

Haven't had them for long....but they are built really tough, so i don't expect any issues from them

Use a lot of their monitor stands for work.

Never had any dramas with any they are built very well.

I used to use that cubix stand but found it was a pain in the arse to assemble in the booth so it no sits in my studio at home and I bought a Stanton Uberstand which is great.

Luckily I got it for half price but they are bloody expensive.

Same great stand, and managed to get it on the cheap too.

Bit bulky for club use, unless you are the headliner , then you demand what you want!

There was this really good one I saw in a magazine once.. It had a clamp to attach it to the edge of a bench then the arm could swivel in any direction so you could mount it from the front or back of the bench and either have it over the top of your other gear or off to the side form the front.. From memory it converted to about 300 buck AUS though.

I'm trying to find it on google but not having much luck atm.

spacetek i think you are talking about
Not worth the coin in my opinio

ezywarp

yeah they are the ones..

I actually didn't see your link before I posted that.

I think the spacetek design looks like it might be a bit better.. I'd need to see for myself but either way.. at the end of the day it's a stand and all it needs to do is hold the thing there so as long as it does that, the price difference is a bit hard to justify.

Hey that one from skunkworks looks heaps good.
I didnt want to fork out lots of money for mine so i bought an lcd desk clamp and screwed a music stand to it. it cost me about $50 and it does the job.

ps. love the spacetek ones

From $40 odd...not sure it'd hold a CDJ 1000 though, might be too heavy

Bunnings. Brackets. A drill. Some screws. Some crafty work with some mdf. so much cheaper.

@ Random - mine seems pretty sturdy - should easily hold a CDJ 1000

I'm looking for a new stand, my one doesn't cut it, how do you find THIS (http://www.storedj.com.au/products/product.php?id=1336) stand in terms of clearance over the mixer?

I see from the pics where it's clamped to the back of a coffin case is has stacks of room, but that's extra height compared to if you're just using the frame slid under the mixer...if you do that, does it still offer decent clearance so that using the mixer is still relitively unobstructed?

append the letters "D" and "J" in the product description and double the price
