I have a copy of the track Ollie Jaye & Jon The Dentist - Imagination ( on Tidy Trax ) inc K90 + another mix , and have realised i may have a dodgy pressing..
The track keeps changing pitch all through the track,i contacted Tidy's person in charge of distribution etc , of course there was no reply ,just wondering if anyone else has this track/ problem with any other tracks , i have a few other releases on Tidy & there is no problem with them...
Any Idea??

Did you notice this when you listened before you bought it or was it a net purchase ???
PS, can't help otherwise..

i bought it off someone through Ebay,i also bought about 6 other tracks off the same person & they are fine, so i'm not sure what to think
is it warped? maybe an off center pressing?

"bought off of ebay"
end of story
TidyTrax has no business replying to your enquiry seeing as its second hand, or even if it was new
no offence but you're stuck with it and no-one to blame

fair enough,if it's second hand,
but if it's a new copy then i think they should exchange or something, rather than just selling dodgy pressings & not fielding any complaints
nah it doesnt work that way usually. coz its such a fragile medium that anywhere along the line after it leaves the pressing plant to getting into your hands something can go wrong. basically shop local, or shop somewhere u can trust online, and u will be able to avoid problems.

it could be a bad pressing. it doesnt necessarily have to be warped to sound off. You can get problems when the record has "ripples", or other surface imperfections.
but i reckon it's due to how the track was produced. Issues with sequencing s/w, latency, midi controllers, shit like that. I have some records that have tempo shifts through out and make mixing are real challenge, cause you have to constantly ride the pitch! But in my case, the record that has shifting tempos was caused by latency issues with cubase when the track was produced (i know this cause the producer posted about it some msgboard). To my knowledge cubase is quite notorious for latency problems, especially on windows based systems.

another reason why i use SONAR sync'd to an MPC
cant get more rock solid
ps, that WOULD be a bit of a laugh.... having to ride the pitch then reading the producer having a whinge that it was cubase
hahaha
pps, windows has nothing to do with it you Mac bitch
