Dance Music Hub – Junior Content Assistant Job Description

Australia’s leading online electronic music download portal, Dance Music Hub is looking for a part time contractor to assist in the area of catalogue management. The role is offered as a part time contract for up to 16 hrs per week. The successful applicant would require an extensive knowledge of electronic music , DJ’s and artists of all styles.

Overall Responsibility :

• Catalogue management
• Handling of supplier takedown and edit requests
• Formatting of content into DMH specific format for ingestion
• Management of the supplier ingestion process
• Liaising with Catalogue Director and distributor delivery contacts
• Setup of new distributors
• General support to catalogue director and DMH staff

Key areas of Responsibility

• Cataloguing into genres and subgenres of content into the DMH database and making content live for sale within specified release date time
• Quality control of content.
• Management of feature placements for key releases and genre specific features

Requirements / Skills

• Extensive musical knowledge covering all forms of electronic music.
• Experience as a working DJ is preferred
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and general web applications
• Deadline driven with attention to detail and accuracy
• Access to computer with high speed internet (ADSL2+)

Terms Of Employment

• The role is offered on a contract basis and the successful applicant must provide us with a valid ABN number
• Minimum 8 hours per week subject to an initial probation period and successful completion and proficiency in a relevant test case.
• After sufficient training and trial period the role is subject to meet minimum quotas per week.
• Initially this will be a work from home role for the successful applicant.

Finding it hard to see how all those duties could be completed comprehensively within 8 - 16 hours per week.

Initially the role will mainly be cataloguing of content while we get up to speed with the mountain of releases coming in. From there it will diversify into other areas. PM me with your email address if you are interested.
