View Full Version : Computer Music Magazine VST special!
Just picked up the new Computer Music Magazine Virtual Instrument Special. Includes 24 virtual instruments including their own SR-202 which is now no longer available even on back order, and 590 samples! Top stuff! + a guide to using them to make a Trance track.
Well worth the $18 outlay I recon!

This is gunna sound silly possibly...
BUT
If i purchase this magazine (i saw it the other day) do i need other stuff/programs?
See ive gotten a few of these things and basically just wasted my time cause i didnt have the rest or they were dodgy demo's. So although $18 is a good price IF you can use it, its also a waste of good money if you cant:(
Cheers.
Kirk.

HOG you'll need a program that can load VST2 instruments...
this is pretty much any sequencing program on the market - cubase, sonar, protools, logic, acid4, fruity, buzz, orion
Vido, where did you pick it up from? None of the newsagents in my area seem to sell magazines related to production.

Chris, find yourself a technical book store, like one that stocks all the computer books and magazines... they usually have them...
I picked it up from the Newsagent next to the bus stop on Miller St, North Sydney. I saw it at some other ones too. It is not a "normal issue" of Computer music but a special issue only about virtual instruments.
Yes you do need a program like Cubase VST to use the instruments. They dont work on their own. But it includes demos you can play with of Cubase and some others.
Mac too.

this edition of this mag is fully the bomb. Now, most media feeds on other media, and I actually spotted this one monday and began trawling it for things to pull out and turn into an article for ITM. when/if I do, don't blow my cover, k?
If you read this issue cover to cover, you're going to find yourself
a) totaly clued.
b)totaly lost.
c) enlightened.
It's about the most comprehensive roundup of making "proper" music on computers you're going to find, ever.
