I cant seem to get the software traktor to link up with the turnables.
it can read the signals, but that's all. i cant even find the buttom to calibrate them.
everything is connected in order. i can get music playing in interal mixer mode, and the mixer can detect the input from the computer. but the turntables are like dead in the whole setup. completly not present when all the cables at attached. with traktor vinyls playing.

Do you have Traktor Scratch?
That would be my first question
Do you have it set to scratch control on each deck?
Thats my second question
I dont think i have a 3rd til you have answered those

I have Native Instruments Traktor Scratch Pro, and the Traktor software that came with it
Yes I did set it to scratch control. Then i pressed the absolute or relative cratch button, and press play. Usualy it won't play.

do you hav scratch duo or scratch pro?
duo has a bug in version 1.2.1 where it wont show the calibration/scratch panel, they fixed this in version 1.2.2 (which is available from the ni website)
if you are using pro, the panels are available on the options and also on the external mode layouts
after you hooked everything up, fire up "traktor startup wizard" and then choose "audio4dj - traktor scratch" if your using duo or "audio8dj - traktor scratch" for pro ~ and click apply~ you should see the calibration/scratch panels next to the waveform windows~ Now is the time to play the "LEAD IN" section of ur traktor vinyl / timecode~ this should get everything working~ load a track and try to manipulate~ if not click on the "RST" button on the calibration panels and try again~ you should see some round circles on the calibration windows if traktor is detecting your timecodes ~ otherwise you probably hooked up the wrong cable!
also make sure your audio4/8 dj is properly configured to either LINE (for cda) or PHONO (vinyl)

during playback on the ST150, the cartiage makes a hig pitch sound when playing the Traktor vinyl, is that normal , or should ther be no sound when the caritage is touching the moving vinyl ?

if youre using the multicore cables just switch your phono/line output on the mixer, one of them should be working with regular vinyl and the other one for timecode vinyl..

What equipment are you using with TS Pro?
that doesnt seem to answer the quoted question?
yes. that's the time code.

Just press the calibrate button again while you have the TT playing the TC vinyl...
And make sure:
A8DJ: you have the selector on the box to phono or line
A4DJ: In the a4dj driver you have it set to phono or line.
Failure to do this will give back calibration errors.

the needle seems to be scrathing the vinyl (weight not very heavy) and makes a high pitch sound.
i cant post images due to my account, but the turntable ciricle on Traktor has dots all over the place, like a dust storm. and not even near a circle.
sounds like the needle is fucked, it should not be scratching the vinyl
are you able to play normal records?
It sounds like you have purchased a heap of stuff that you have no idea about.
Do you have any friends that dj that may be able to help you?
If not, go to where you bought it and ask them to show you the basics

*must refrain from taking cheap shot about not having purchased Japanese products*
Typically, when using a DVS, it's normal to hear the high-pitched sound. This is refered to as the 'control tone' which is decoded by the software (the 'digital' part of 'digital vinyl system').
Switch the channel to 'line'. Oh, and make sure a track is actually loaded to the software deck.

efastmix: do you even have any idea how to intall needles/stylus dude?
did you wire the needles to the headshell by yourself or was it pre-wired?
I suspect its a combination of not properly installing the needles, not balancing the needle to zero before adding 1.5-2.5g on the weight (depending on the needles) etc

had a DJ friend coming over after dinner, turns out the needle i was using has problems.
switched to another needle (cartiage) and now Traktor is caliberated.
going to give DJ Warhouse a call about this faulty cartage that came with the ST150s

thank you, your suggestion helped
the timecode sometimes suddenly stops, and Traktor loses the timecode vinyl signal.
calib works now but often fails in the second part. "known medium" "calib failed", so i cant play in abolute mode

I have 1200s and they are the shiznit, however i have heard a LOT of good stuff about the 150s...
The only bad thing i have heard is they might not hold up in a club setting (tonearm probs?)
have played twice at planet recently, both times there was a 1200 and a 150 (different 150 each time because one of planets 1200s is fucked)
both times the 150s had really bad distortion, seemed like a platter isolation problem when there was any bass going through the system
apart from that, they seemed fine
