hey,
recently gotten traktor scratch duo, audio 4 rig and am using it on my macbook pro, apologies if this is rookie but how do i go about recording my mixes through it? suggestions please...
search.
either buy an mp3 player/minidisc player that will record in
or
use your mac book pro if it has a line in connection.
both methods are well documented here.

Traktor has its own inbuilt recording system if you are using the internal mixer. Check the manual for more info.

thanks for the response mate. ive tried searching but to no avail. what search topic did u type in?
also im using a djm800 to record the set, i tried having another computer and using a sound card to record from the audio out on the djm800 but the recording is all distorted with loud artifacts in the recording, is there something im doing wrong?
also going back to your point about the line in in maccbook. would i be recording into another program while im using traktor? or would it be recording in the traktor program somehow?
thx mate

Unfortunately not traktor duo, i believe that function is disabled in it
...as for the question on recording out of a mixer i would say if it is distored, you are simply pushing the redlines too much.
set your auxiliary out (or whatever output you are recording from) to an appropriate level so that its not distorting

the recording device im using is a alesis i02 usb device. would it be possible to run the i02 with audacity recording in the background while im running traktor out at the same time?
you should be able to run all those apps if your macbook has enough ram and a fast enough hard drive - just do some test record sessions (one - two minutes) and work out your levels. then write it all down so you don't forget what you did in the future :)

that's because you're using the mic in. not line in.
try searching 'record' and see how you go.....

hey, first time caller here
i have the same problem as seedypete, was used to virtualdj and recorded sets through that, but have just got traktor scratch duo, and am using 2 decks through a hercules mk2
how is it exactly i record through audacity? im not too sure of how you need to set up the preferences. and do you need another lead coming from your hercules, soley for recording, or is the fact that the controller is set up through usb, would that work as a channel?
cheers for any help, and sorry if its a question yous have had a million times over, i had a scan through the search but couldnt find a definitive answer

bumpity...
I have somehow lost my external soundcard while moving house...now comes time record a mix with traktor scratch DUO and I cant work it out...
I have Audacity, is there anyway I can set the outputs of Traktor to go straight to Audacity? Or do I have to go to the mixer, then back to the computer...I dont have a mic input, just headphone input...I'm running a new macbook pro.
Should I keep searching fo the external soundcard, or is there another weay to do it?
Cheers :thumb:
edit...its trenthalliday by the way...wrong log in...

You will need to route the mix back into a different soundcard if your using the Audio4 in scratch mode and setup that as the input in audacity.
