Hello everbody
Just scored Kraymon's promo pressing sent by ship from the UK and the f@$kers quite badly warped.
Makes it a bit tuff to mix in well.
Can anybody offer any tips for de-warping vinyl. I tried bending in opposite direction a different freeby I had that was warped so badly the cartridge would hit the vinyl but very sadly it snapped :~(
Please help

last time i de-warped vinyl I sandwiched it between two bits of 12mm mdf and then chucked my TV on top (which weighs a good 70 kilos) and left it for a week...
it probably fucked it tho
two pieces of glass, into the sun for 15 minutes. all good. if 15 mins doesnt do it check every 5 mins until it is sortted.

the glass works, leave it in the sun for a good while then bring it in out of the sun and put some phone books on it to cool it down. Don't take it out from the glass until it is completely cooled or the vinyl will just go back to being warped..
It works tho.. well. :)
Get heavy glass too, I got mine from a glass manufacturer, just went to their showroom and they gave me two 13 inch peices for about $2 each..

glass trick... fantastic
the things you learn :)
out of curiosity how much does the sound suffer from undergoing the heat and pressur eon the grooves? not much at all or somewhat substantial?
anyone remember Memory Jelly (tm) ? its like an object, lets say a toy frog, and its firm but yeilding, and no matter HOW much you fuck it up, rip it around and twist it, it will always fall back into perfect place (thanks NASA and Beyond 2000)
records made out of that would be awesome :P

Glass worked real good DRi,
Kept the record in its disco bag of course
No apparent damage to the grooves
Perfectly flat now !!! I was quite happy when it worked couldn't believe it
Brissy's heat is good for somethin'
