Kind of like the TTM57 but this is a 4 chanel, it seems pretty cool

the look of it is kind of cheesy but i like the idea of 4 decks in serato =D

4 decks, you can even hook up two separate laptops to it

it just doesn't quiet sit right with me, but until I can get my hands on one I am reserved to say much as it maybe awesome to use

It's a great mixer, but what do you think of the fact that to get the same number of decks in Serato that you have in Traktor, you're going to have to fork over $3000-$4000???

That's the question I'd like ansered too. It actually makes me question if this product will neagatively effect Serato uptake/use and see more folks use/move to Traktor.

if that's the case, that is just mental...

but what about the V7 4 deck capabilities, how does that run with ITCH?

Correct about 4 deck Serato. Correct about not having a new sound card (as yet anyway), and as you know you can't use any other brand of soundcard with Serato. I have heard mention of 3 deck control with SL3 - I haven't verified this though. Two USB ports are required to run four decks from the 68 which isn't exactly helpful if you want to run any external controllers.

A comment I read on another forum about Rane being a little 'Applesque' in their approach to market maintenance rings true for me...

nah they've announced its three decks with the sl3, two through the left and right and the third through the aux ins outs.

the sl1 doesn't do four channels of analogue to digital.. but no two channel sound card will. if you have a four+ channel mixer and a midi controller you can map out start, stop, cue and nudge buttons and a pitch fader to any/all of the sp4/sp6 sampler banks with the sl1 too. you can do that already with 1.9.2.. wait to see the improvements in 2.0 at least.

so even the sl1 can compete with traktor's 4 deck version, for less money.. but depending how you look at it, you can say that serato offer a 2 channel with midi extras, a 3 channel with midi extras, and the 68.
