Sub not turning on.

My Subwoofer (Yamaha MSR-800W) isn't turning on.

It powered down at the end of a set (not redlining or anything) during a mix and now it does not receive any power the LED at the back does not turn on, the heatsink at the back was pretty hot and I was thinking it possibly shut down because of heat, but I thought Subs came with a cutoff at a certain temperature anyway so they shouldn't have caused permanent damage right?

Do subs have fuses or anything that I can change would that be the problem? It has a 5 year warranty so I was thinking of just getting it replaced rather than checking out the fuses and stuff, but I need it for a party next week so I would hate to wait ages for a replacement to come in.

yep they do have fuses, and yours might just need replacing. if it's still under warranty, best to use it :thumb:

e: ah shit just realised you need it pronto! well, yeah check the fuse. i'm not sure if this will void your warranty though?? in case you need to do warranty repairs in the future.

I reckon you'd be better to just get the problem fixed under warranty - better not to risk voiding it by messing around yourself. You might just have to borrow/hire a sub for the upcoming party sadly :(
