Claims to "improve" your mp3s, "corrects" pitch and "repair" clipping.

What does it actually do and does it work?

I received an e-mail about the new version today.

I've heard the previous versions weren't so great!

Mixed In Key is the business though! ;)

why would you need to repair a mp3? they only cost $2

supposed to edit any notes that arent on key, so that its easier to key mix...

I wouldn't trust i though for the following reasons...

* Its editing your finished track
* Does the WHOLE track really HAVE to be on key
* DJ's have been doing fine (key mixing) for years WITHOUT this app... why start now?

i like when seeing DJ's that use Mixed In Key's feature selling points and descriptives in their DJ Bio

It'd be handy, but not for $98USD

it changes the level of the song as well ( to what ever setting you specify) so if you're to lazy or have no idea what the gain knob does on a mixer, you might find some use for it.

I've tried it with a poorly recorded bootleg of a song i can't even remember. It made it louder (this song was really quiet) to a point where it was normal.

why you'd want to play a song like this out, i'm not sure.

So.... It takes a track that an artist made in a certain way with a certain sound and harmonics, and changes some of it, if not all.

:rainman:

What the fuck is the world coming to? Like honestly if the artist wanted the track to be harmonically "perfect" he would of made it that way. :thumb:

Hi all,

Glad to see that news of Platinum Notes 3.0 got to the inthemix forums. Couple of key points about our program:

It does not adjust the individual notes of a track. We measure the overall pitch of the track, and if it is slightly off move it so that the track is perfectly on key. If an analog synth is used in production with out of tune oscillators, they will remain out of tune in comparison to the rest of the track.

The problem with most dance music made today is that the producer is trying to master it louder than the last guy so that it gets your attention when you preview it online. It's an unfortunate situation, but we equate louder with better at the cost of lost dynamic range. Google "loudness war" to see some great videos and articles about this. Platinum Notes works to correct this over compression through multi-band expansion that we license from iZotope. We use the same dynamic processing plugins that are used in their Ozone product, so at $98 it's a pretty good value.

Cheers,
