gday,

over the years ive always had a great interest in djing and decided to finally get some gear to practice with, unfortunetly i have no idea what i should get, but a bloke i know has offered me his gear for $450, i just dont know if the equipment is any good, he claims to have spent over $1500 on it but i have no idea as the stuff he is offering looks alot different to wat i see in clubs, the equipment hes offering is:

imix-100 twin i-pod mixer

cdx-115 twin jog wheel cd players with cd rw playback

ax-110hg 240watt rack mount amplifier

2x sx-10 240/480watt party speakers with crossover protection and party stands

dj-st dj rack stand with gooseneck mic stand headphones, mic and cables.

any information would be greatly appreciated.

That's more than you need to get started man. :) None of the gear is that great, but it's not often you'll pick up a whole setup like that for $450. The amount your mate originally paid sounds realistic, to set up something like that with good brands (Pioneer, Technics, A&H etc) you'd easily nudge 10 grand.

If you stick with DJing then you'll probably want to step up to some nicer CD decks and mixer down the track. For now though, four fiddy is a bargain.

Funkedub, stop being a ****. :daftpunk: The dual CD player alone is worth the effort, more people should learn to mix on these things. Got a cheapo one myself. (More than cheapo actually. It was free, being chucked out by a pub. Fools!)

Sweet deal mate! Would definitely struggle to find a better start-up deal less than $500!
