Hey guys,

I just bought a Vestax PMC-25 off of ebay, everythings about seems to work fine. Although, what I did notice was that the Master Output at the back was a TRS 1/4" jack. So I got 2 RCA -> TRS 1/4" adaptors so that I could play through my speakers...turned it on, opened TORQ, loaded a track..and immediately I get an incredibly distorted sound...the track plays but its really muffled and sounds like shit!

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?!

Sounds to me like you've plugged your torq into the phono ins.

I'm using TT's though...should I still be plugging into the Line?

Yes because torq is a digital input.

TT rca's go into torq Input, torq rca's go into line inputs. Then switch the switch at the top from Phono to line 1/2 and line 3/4 (depending on which input you plugged it into.

Ahhhh...thanks! All good now... although it seems to redline pretty easily even with the gains turned down.. should i be worried about that?

No it shouldn't, what turntables do u have ? If u have stantons, check that they are on digital mode, not phono mode, there is a litte switch next to the power button

technics 1200's...when i switch to program mode it redlines and when its on master it barely shows signal...but if you say i shouldnt be worried then I'll just leave it

When I had my PMC-250 I had to turn the gain up to about 11/12 o'clock for levels to be all good, never did it redline though. Check the settings but it shouldn't be redlining just from connecting torq.

Torq might be set up to be too high gain on its outputs too..?

I'd tend to agree with ferret. check the full signal path before blaming the mixer.

PMC 25 is a great mixer, enjoy.
