Hi, I had a couple of quick questions regarding the DJM 800 and its MIDI functions.
firstly, if you are looking to go digital with your djing, is it possible to use a macbook with just a djm 800 alone and control most functions (other than cueing, loading tracks and looping etc) through the djm?
If not, what is the best way to setup so u can still utilise all the effects and features of the djm 800?

thankyou

The DJM800 is limited in its midi control as the messages sent arent exactly intuitive. You'll find some buttons need to be pressed twice in order to achieve a certain function, due to not sending an on/off message in the same way that other MIDI controllers would.

There are ways you can get around it but its tricky. Plus the 800 doesnt really provide that many controls. But give it a shot.
If you havent got an external soundcard with a MIDI input, you'll either need to buy one, or obtain a MIDI-USB cable.
