View Full Version : New Milo Energy Drink...

I was in running late for work today, for a change, and I decided to grab some breakky on the way.
I have never been an avid drinker of milk, unless it is skim, but if it is a choccy moove or something, I don't mind it so much.
I thought seeing as Milo is pretty nice I would give that new Milo energy drink a try, thinking it would just be a choccy milk type drink.
I hopped in the car, and had a sip and it was absolutely revolting!!!! It tasted like they have got a a couple of vitamin pills and some iron tablets (which when I read the label at the back it seems that is what they are aiming for) and thrown it into the milk so it has a distinct taste of iron in it.
I had a good read of the label at the back (which I should have done before I bought the drink) and would you believe that the *one* drink has 10.5 grams of fat in it.
How on earth can you possibly make milk have 10.5grams of fat in one serve???????????? That is phenomenal.. as much fat as you would have in an entire meal!!!
So if you are thinking of giving these drinks a try, trust me, they aren't worth it :)

Real milo instead of powder? Are you being funny MellowD? I hope so. I love Milo bars too, just like eating it out of the tin, or putting 6 spoonfuls in a small glass so you end up with it all on the top. mmmmm

I think the drink tastes gr8 but its a disapointment that it hads to be sooo f-ing fatty! I'm sure that they could reduce the fat content but i guess thats why it tastes soo dam good just like the pigfat in soft serve - mmm soft serve!!!:tripping: :-* :tripping:

I haven't tried the new milo drinks.
But i just LOVE milo.
eat it straight out the tin,
or put heaps on top of cold milk then eat milo off with a spoon (maybe add more milo once its all been eaten),
or dissolve in hot or cold milk,
ever tried milo sandwiches? kinda like fairy bread, but chocolatey.
god bless milo

I quite like them, they taste like shit, but there's lots of carbs and vitamins in em.
Milo = Nestle = Bad corporate citizens. you couldn't kick their products down my throat. stop giving them your money.
why? if you care, read this, (http://urbanlegends.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?site=http://www.essential.org/monitor/hyper/mm0392.html%23formula) this (http://www.angelfire.com/indie/twag/nestle.html) or this (http://www.greenleft.org.au/back/1992/53/53p10aiw.htm) to find out why nestle have been targeted for bans and protests for decades now. I used to love milo, still could go an ice cold glass, but my sense of social justice stops me from going there.

600ml of full cream milk has 10g of fat in it all by itself. they haven't added all that much..

fat is your friend
im a busy bee, i need fat. its a premium energy supply
carbohydrates can only do so much (and are as responsible for making people fat as, well, fat is)
as for boycotting nestle.... nope. such an immense and diverse multi-national is best affected through other channels (pr, government, hippies)
V drink is what should be boycotted.... dont get me started on that crap

A whole thread about Milo!!!! How exciting. I'm such a fan of Milo Mush (3/4 milo 1/4 milk) a meal in a glass and don't mix it too much. Except don't you hate it if you 'phoof' (is that a word??) and the milo goes everywhere?!! X(
Little Blonde - are you talking about the drink in the prima type packaging? If so I reckon it rocks!
Milo Slurpie... Put the milk in the freezer, then crush it and add milo.
oh aaah, that's the spot!

i was once eating milo out of the (jumbo size) tin after a rave once
you can read between the lines on that one
anyway a *certain* unusual friend made some abstract joke out of nowhere and i laughed just as i was breathing IN
took me half an hour to stop choking/dying/laughing/coughing/asphixiating
of course everyone gathered around to laugh their asses off
moral?
dont do what i did
footnote: milo was coming out of my nose. another friend gave me a rolled up note and said "finish the job"
how very funny guys.... sick bastards i have for friends

I am a hippy. Why else do you think I mentioned it? You don't care about the tons and tons of dead babies (as in if you weighed the corpses, there'd be more than a few tons of biomass there) nestle has killed with dishonesty and profiteering, do you? Oh that's right, western nations have a note from america excusing them from giving a fuck. my mistake, go back to consuming the world to death.
you said "lines" and "rolled up note" in the same post. bet ASIO LOVE you dude. of shit, now I've said it too.
