I have recently visited a dj shop and had a demo on the brand new Numark Axis 8 Fusion series cd scratchers jam packed with effects. i bought myself a pair of Pioneer CDJ 1000s and found that I really rushed into things becasue the Numark Decks are 2500-3000 a pair and are fkn absolutely wild and basically the same as the pioneer. the only difference is the name...

www.numark.com to check out the model i am talking about...

for the money the numark decks are nice. but people i know who have had them have since traded them in citing poor construction and a shitty jog dial.

effects & usability is numark's strength

build quality is not!

Axis 8's are good - Axis 9's are the real deal puppys though.

(oh but they are not exactly new)

1000's look as mean as Chopper Reid and are da shit.

You didnt make a bad choice - if you could afford them, why not??

Wouldnt recommend 1000's to many people, only those who I feel are going to make use of the extra features (hence extra cost)

Axis series, CDJ800's, Denon 2600, CDN88, CMX3000..... each would suit different people.

it comes down to PLAYING with the models around yourself to guide what it is you really NEED.

:) :P :p

I haven't used the Numarks, but own a cdj1000, but I only paid $1850 brand new for it and I love it.
