okay...

maybe i was just too f*cked last time but i am sure i did'nt pay $65 to get in, so what gives?!? i wanna know if anybody else out there thinks that this is too much when one takes into account all the other expenses involved in raving hard?

i'd expect maybe to pay a price like this for a huge Gatecrasher or MOS event @ RNA - but we got flagged by them last time they came around.

it seems brissy is missing out on the big raves, and the ones we do get are overpriced... what do you guys think?

Sounds very reasonable to me. When you consider that Jason K has already announced an impressive international line up I think we are all getting a very good deal. Compare it to the price of the GSSS down south and I think it is about right.

I wouldnt say we miss out on the "big" raves. The Adventjah events are pretty big compared to the ones down south. If anything, in Brisbane we miss on regular big club nights.

its a bargain !!!! earlybirds are only $55 - even better if you get in early.....

where else would you get a line-up like that for $55 ?????

yeah,, the lineup is amazing.. $65 + a flight to bris.. definitely worth it I say!!

gatecrasher's looking good too but I'm not sure it's making it to Brisbane? someone correct me if I'm wrong. some of the GC artists are on the adventjah bill though so u get the creme'de'la'creme so to speak, at a Brisbane price, with Brisbane crowds, in Brisbane summer weather.. what more could u ask for!

get in fast though and pick up the discounted ticket, you've got a couple of months to put aside spare cash for it.

I can't wait to hear the local lineup as well!

Correct AK....Advent*jah doesnt get the full lineup of GCSSS, but they do get several great acts. Nice also to see them under the Advent*jah banner, while Gatecrasher plays Syd, Melb and with a reduced lineup in Perth.

It costs heaps to run these tours under a licenced name. Something we need more in Melb is for promoters to run large scale events under their own banner names instead of Slinky, Renaissance, MoS, God's Kitchen, Gatecrasher. There are enough ppl here to support it, as evidenced by those that go to Summadayze, Two Tribes, and Welcome events.

Brisbane and Perth are way ahead here in running events under a locally recognised "brand" such as Advent*jah, and the events put on by Delerium.
Way to go guys as you recognise that through this strategy you can cultivate (and I hope in turn educate) the scene!

i stand corrected.

i agree that it is a great line-up and don't get me wrong - i will gladly fork over the money to go. but i remember the good ol' days when tickets were'nt so expensive. do you guys think that the raves are getting exponentially better as the price gets exponentially higher? i don't - but maybe i am just penny-pinching.

just some food for thought for qld'ers

undainfluence, i think for some parties qlder's get a really good deal on prices.

Try paying $65 on the door for Paul Van Dyk? That was a 3 hr set, and presold of $45. he was the only international on the bill at that night. Thats just one example, i could give you heaps more from melbourne, and Sydney is the same. Syd might even be worse cause there the standard is for much higher weekly cover charges than in Melb and Bris.

more food for thought..

undadainfluence, is it you?
when i got there i found out id been put on the door, so gave my pre-sold to a boy who had lost his ...
65 is fair price to pay to see acts of that calibre, however you dont just go to a rave to see the acts, you go for the total experience ... and the physical environment is an integral part of that experience ... the rna is the most uncomfortable venue and it detracts ...
id be happy to pay top dollar for world class acts at the tivoli ... lush

You brisban-ites should be FUCKING PROUD that you have your own event - in fact down here in Melbourne we are now having our own AdventJah party. That's how good a reputation it has.
Whoever said "i'd expect to pay that much for Ministry or Gatecrasher" is purely ignorant. The ONLY ONLY ONLY ONLY reason you pay more, is for the BRAND NAME from England. The locally run and endorsed parties are the best, and brisbane really has something to be proud of.
You have LIVID there too don't you??? Lucky bastards.

not to sound arrogant but if you have ever organised a party you would really understand the scope of the production that goes into an adventjah festival
i have seen first hand the admin nightmare that jason k goes thru just to secure the venue let alone the international, lasers, props, visuals, stall holders and everything else that goes with it... and when you consider that the up and coming robbie williams gig at boondal is $80 a ticket we should be thankful... ever gone to a large scale gig in sydney it is amazingly expensive......
