I'm in the market for an FX unit. And im taking a liking to the Korg KP2.
What I want to know is it any better then the inbuilt mixer/FX unit (e.g. Pioneer DJM - 600)?
And if I’m using a mixer with FX in it can I still attach the KP2?
Also, if I buy it from the USA and bring it back home will it work ok?
Does it have that switch like the technics 1200 where you can change the line voltage from 110 volt to 240 volt?

If your mixer has an Auxillary Out (or FX Out) you can use it that way, which is desirable as you can then mix the amount of FX used.
Alternatively, you could simply go from line out the unit through the KP2 into the amp. This is way less desirable, and you'll have to really watch your levels!
Kaoss Pads have an external power supply, so you'll need to invest in another transformer.
KP2's RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWKKKK!!!!!

KP2 uses a wall wart doesnt it?
They're cheap and easy to pick up here, like $30 or so
just make sure you get the volts, amps, and polarity right! (more amps is fine but less amps is bad)

Mate, I'm just mucking about with the KP2 at the moment, got one on loan last night.
In short, yes it is better than any in-built fx unit, BY FAR!!!!!!! The KP2 is a machine, it has an infinite number of effects really.
A review. I'm a pretty shit DJ but I pulled the KP2 out of the box and within 2 minutes it was set up (just on one deck) and it was making really cool noises. It has a two sections that just generates either beats or synth noises on their own and you can get some nifty little bleeps and shit from it. Best of all you can beat match the effect. Really cool
The effects are pretty cool, all sorts of filter, flange reverb sounds. I have a DJM500 and often use the mate's DJM600 and let me tell you there is absolutely no comparison with those fx and that of the KP2.
You can set it up thru the send and receive if your mixer has it or you can just have the fx on one deck only. You might want to just use it to make noises all on it's own in a 3rd channel. You could conceivably play a set with just one deck and a KP2 if you got good enough. It might be a headf**k for your punters but!!
Wall wart included with the KP2. better check the voltage thing. A mate did that with CDJ1000s and when he got the voltage thing fixed it worked out dearer.
Dunno about the Pioneer fx unit or some others.
