Does anyone know who is promoting Chris Fresh's visit to Brisbane? What a bloody tragedy that its on the same night as Passion!! As much as I think "Lights Out" is a great track, and I've heard good things about his djing, I'd be going down to Passion to support the local lads.
I can see this might be one of those night where the progressive fans in Brisbane miss out.....either going to one gig or the other, or paying for both and doing the Valley run around. Sad really. Doesnt help to build the scene :(
Justin Gold (Gold-E) is promoting Chris Fresh.
We were trying to organise something together, and had been talking to Chris Fresh ourselves, however we were already committed to an all local line-up for this Passion.
We adopted the philosophy this year to run with an all locals Passion, then a Passion with an interstate guest.
Why ? We believe our talent up here is very strong, hence the all locals nights. But we also like to bring interstate guys up for the 'freshness' and to share our love of progressive music with other talented people in this great country of ours.
It is important to recognise the achievers from this country, and expose them to different crowds......this is why Passion has featured the likes of Sean Quinn, Phil K, and Ben Korbel over the past two years.
It is equally important to promote nights featuring locals only cause we have talent up here too !!! Hence the nights with the Passion residents, and the likes of other Brisbane folk like Peter Mogg, Jay:R, Chris Tisdell, Jeff Drake, etc etc.
Anyhow, thats enough of my rambling, we still plan on having Chris up here for Passion, but unfortunately not for the next one. Its local talent time !!!!!
Surely we should be getting to the stage where progresssive is growing enough to serve these two venues for this night.....time will tell.

Polecat - I've heard Chris Fresh play numerous times over the last few years and I'd recommend not missing it if possible.

Hi everyone,
Unfortunately polecat, Chris's diary was full for Nov/Dec, so the 17 th was the only date free. It is not our intention to compete against passion or any other club/promoter. Its just the way it happens. Niether was it our intention to give people the valley run around. We are a growing scene here, both parties will be packed. :)
On the local front, we borrowed Cosmo for the night, myself and Kevin Contessa. Upstairs will feature JaJa's reidents.
Will update with more details soon.
Justin.
Botton line is - evryone can still get to both parties for well under $20 and enjoy two wicked events !!!

we are definately not trying to steal each others thunder and you'll find some great Progressive events in the future coming from us both in Brisbane........
