i am moving back to brisbane after a stint in sydney and i am noticing an improvement even after a year or so, there are some great club nights happening and i can't wait to get back up there......it'll get there eventually!!! but yeh we need to get the brisbane forum going!! i'll be back in time for advent*jah so i am very excited!

I know that whenever I go out I have an absolute rip snorter... The scene is definitely much better than it was a few years ago. The little cluster that takes in the empire, monastery, family, ja-ja's and mantra keeps my little world rocking, and reality in check ;-)

Come on guys, no beat.. downstairs beat is definately the best Hard house, happy hardcore scene in brisbane.. If Dj Jason or edwin is spinning it is the best fuckin place =)

only one bad point... where is Jen-E (the best dj eva!) she never plays at the beat anymore, always at raves (system 6 ect) but she has lost her residence or something..

shes down at mansions sometimes (gold coast) ... which reminds me, dont forget the coast clubs if you are feeling like a night of adventure with your team ... go the away mission vegas kids. its a real playground down there.

DJ Jen E has not played at The Beat since before New Years Eve. She was forced to leave there due to a dispute with management - management had billed her, without consent, for one of their NYE functions.
However, she had already been booked to play in Townsville, and could not decline this booking, so management gave her an ultimatum - cancel Townsville, and stay here, or go, and no more Beat.
Jen still occasionally plays at the Mansion and most System 6 and Advent'jah events. She's also in the process of exploring new styles (including breaks) so it will be interesting to hear her next time she plays.

It is up to all of us in the scene to our bit, whether you are a promoter, club owner, dance media outlet but especially if you the punter.

The Brisbane public has had to put up with alot of crap over the years and they are quick to let you know what they want. Let's all of us try and get some consistancy for them, lets all do our bit.

Cosmo, if you can get me a number for Jen, we could try and have her on the next Brisbane Rhythm Mix.
