What are the worst games you hav ever played..........the crappiest of the crap..............the kind of games that make foreplay with Oprah Winfrey seem like a funner option?

For me it's those fucking DRAGON'S LAIR GAMES that were at the arcades ages ago. All you could do was watch the animation and push one fucking button that never did anything!!!!!!!!!X(

What the fuck?! TA is the best real time strategy game EVER, it certainly poos all over Starcrap and thr Red Alert series. I remember one magazine giving it 98%, the highest score ever given to a game at that point. I played it for months, and then played the expansion for months when it came out...

As for shit games I tend not to remember them either, unless massively hyped. Postal sucked, and Myth 3 was a huge dissappointment.

TA was brilliant multiplayer, especially if you played it as a siege and bombardment game. The single player was a bit samey though. The sheer variety of units is still unmatched in any strategy game, plus the way the game was built you could actually add user created units into it. I had over three hundred different unit types, and the sheer scope of bases you could built and battles staged was waay over anything else. Plus no other game had done the 3d thing before which worked real well. It did take some horsepower to run for its time though.
I loved the first two Myth games as well, so as you say, horses for courses.

why did i hate it *scratch head* ahh yeah. i really dont dig games that have two opposing sides with the same units.

with the exception of board games.

but thats a slightly different concept.

i played TA solidly one night for about 10 hours at a lan (and a fair whack of the single player campaign at home), it was fun multiplayer. but after a while it got very samey once a few tactics were ironed out. basically it became a constant scrabble for the high land where one would place a big bertha and proced to rain shells down onto the other players. while repeating the process on other advantageous spots while simultaneously protecting current bertha installs. once you had 2-3 bertha positions and a lot of AA, you basically had control of the entire map

i disliked it for its lack of depth in that area, with similar units, similar tactics emerge and similar tactics means that it just ends up in a rush to gain the advantage. rush != fun :(

but thats my opinion. maybe it shouldnt be in a worst game of all time list, it wasnt an embarrasing jumble of code like daikatana.. ill switch the TA entry fo TA: kingdoms then :P~ (did *anyone* buy that?)

i got a lot more play out of dark reign and ground control.

Daikatana was the most embarrasing thing ive ever played now that it comes to mind. they were only about 4 years too late.

yeah, 4 colour sprites, 4 COLOUR nowadays the kiddies expect bump and environment mapping with sub pixel accurate rendering with full antialiasing, correct specular lighting and hard shadow maps.

and they STILL complain that it runs to slow...

back in my day they had to fake polygon/second render benchmarks by drawing everything flat shaded with a size of 0 and clipped out of the scene! (oh wait, they still do that)

the ps2 is certainly showing its age, and no the dc did not look better. the dc looked like shit, in that special flat shaded sega sort of cool way that really looked good 3 years ago compared to the playstation (my-mother-can-push-more-polygons) 1

altho i must say nismo, that cell shading is my current obsession. however IMHO no one has done it right yet, its all toooo cartoony and not dirty enough (if you get what i mean) also the lighting on cell shading seems to be a bit weird too.. but ill come back to this issue in a few months when i actually try and code my own ;P~

True bout Kingdoms, twas seriously flawed. I know what you mean about TA tactics, I was the the long range artillery master with that game so I know exactly what you mean! But most games have a dominant strategy, TA was no exception. I do agree about the sides being a bit too samey as well.
Core contigency was good with the Buzzsaw/Vulcan (gatling Berthas that needed about 8 fusions to power them!!) though.

A agree that it was very dissapointing to see very little beside the game itself, but once you get the gameplay, especially shooting, this is a goodgame. But I do agree that there are too many things left out of this game that could have made it so much better...

Black & White is my most hated game. It just doesn't hold my interest, and most of the things they said you can do with it need patches and the like, so why say you can when you can't?

Sims Online (Beta) is pretty boring too... it's got potential to develop into something more, but I've found the beta to be just a "make money & build things to make yourself more money" type game, not one of interaction like Maxis claim. You spend most of your time around a Pizza Making saying LS, LT, LC or LB.

Neocron (Beta) was pretty abysmal too. MMORPG based in a cyberpunk world. WAY too buggy... Server souldn't handle more than 300 players, most of the missions stuffed up so you would complete them but it'd say you were too late... AND they've gone gold with it, so there's another one for the heap.

the worst game i ever played wasnt dragons lair (although totally lame) and not any of the army men games (but please 3do, stop!)... it was called Paparatzzi and i got it for like $5 at big w on a whim. It was a point and click less gameplay than nightwatch type "lets show off this wonderfull new cd rom multimedia invention" type thing... it obsessed my best mate and i for a week, but luckily when we finnished it, we took it out of the drive, put it down and fate struck it dead by having a speaker fall right on top of the disk, snapping it in two... thank god... it was the weirdest week of our lives to that point... ( i will buy it again if i see it... just like i will watch "Crazy For You" if by some wrong programming decision that ever gets shown on tv again...)

How rude. "yeah, we'll take your hundred bucks you sucker, but you can't even play our game till you give us your credit card number. Cool. so what the hell did I spend the hundred friggen bucks on? Here's a happy first- I returned opened software for a refund, and got my dosh, even though I'd written usernames and passwords I'd created on the game handbook in CD marker pen.

And no, on the Gold Edition box there is no mention of needing a credit card. Nor is there anything in the printed material inside the box (not that it would have mattered if there was.) It wasn't until the sign up that I got black flagged for not having a consumer identity tracking card. That's why I got the refund. failed to inform me of binding requirements on the packaging. *shrug*

And I dropped fifty bucks of the refund on red at the casino on my way home and turned it into a hundred, which I let ride, and turned that into two hundred. Went out with open software and a reciept for 100 bucks, came home with no software and two hundred and fiftyy bucks. *gloat* I fukn love being me. I'm like rockin.

Special Items: none (easy)
Dog Tags: no requirement (easy)

yeh i finished it. but the game as a whole just didnt do anything for me in the least. the story line was without a doubt the best i have seen, reminded me of a Japanese animation, so big thumbs up on that account. but moving 5m n then watching another movie just shit me to tears. the graphics really werent that great, sound was adequate and i think its the fact that most of the game was spent (where u did actually get to play) on the same friggin platform of the plant. it just wore thin on me in the end. i am so over seeing yellow atm becoz of that game. the controls were abit dodge when it came to leaning back against a wall, more then a few times i got caught out. i dunno, in general the whole game just really bugged me. maybe coz i expected something bigger n better as it was spose to be THE ps2 title beside the Gran Tourismo and Final Fantasy series.

after comparing with some of the less serious games of the same genre i basically felt that MGS2 didnt have the playability.

Fatal racing (PC) would have to be my nomination. . oh oh oh, and there was another racing game on N64, a rally game with fake car names (fake porsche and ford cosworth etcc , and an icecream truck!). but the physics were so fucked that you would get stuck to the walls (or barriers) the whole track cause they were magnetic (me and my friend concluded)

For me the game is called Overblood on PS1. I bought it new for $80 when it came out. On the back it says "You awake from a cryogenic sleep with no memory (my usual start to the day:P ). Stumbling through an underground base, you discover that an evil virus courses through your viens. You must find an antidote...and soon. With the help from a friendly robot and a mysterious woman, you must battle infected clones and uncover the secrets of the base etc "

Sounds good. Only problem was there was a total of 3 enemies the whole game and it took about 30-45 minutes to pass the stupid game, and thats with me being killed once aswellX(

Money well spent.

Bad Mojo - the only game where you get to see what it feels like to be a cockroach! Dodgiest, sketchiest game ever with the most awkward game play and predictable story line.

The 7th Guest & the 11th Hour, which were pretty much the same game with the annoying puzzles in a different order. I swear, you either had to have a phd in math or use the cheats to finish them.

two possibilities,
- their inter-object penetration was fucked (intergration issues)

The sad thing is, it probably is. I've talked to guys who used to be in my guild who sold their accounts for $1000US+. Thats insane for something that doesn't exist in any form other than 1's and 0's. (this was a high end guild tho)

I was hooked on this game for .. (I'm embarrased to say, you'll have to beat it out of me) - It goes to show that too much of something is just all bad.

Now when people quit the game (I still keep in contact) its not case of "good luck with RL", its a case of "WELCOME BACK".

I don't really remember the crap ones either. Hyped games that I have really not liked though would be Quake3. Can't think of any others. I don't think q3 is a bad game as such.

On a purely personal level of enjoyment and opinion I think it sux though. :D

Stupid games bought by my parents as presents!
I've never personally bought any crap games myself cos I make sure I do my research.. I've had some pretty average ones but I wouldn't go calling any of them them crap! On the other hand I have copied a fair few crap psx games from the video store in my time! So crap that I can't even fucking remember them!
