Do many females read this section of the board?

I got in an arguement earlier this year with a guy at uni who firmly believes that alot of females play video games.

Now if we ignore 'The Sims' for a moment do many females actually enjoy gaming? I know one....Any opinions???????

i've only started looking at this board..
and i havent played a decent computer game in aaages.
I dont seem to have any patience for anything that requires strategy.. so its basically down to driving & fighting games.

my gf hated games not that long ago. But then I bought Ico for PS2. seeing as it's such an 'artistic' game and not centrd around fighting or driving it held her attention right to the end.

now she's on the lookout for other more visually appealing and distinctive games... "Fatal Frame' looks good, anybody played, any others to suggest?

Not only am I an avid gamer but also a supportive gf to a gamer... even bought him a Cube for his birthday (then fought him for the controller) and fully support his PC gaming habits!!! LOL.

Will admit I'm crap at most games but doesn't mean I don't enjoy it!!!

Im a girl and loooove vid games! im currently finishing HITMAN 2 (way to easy in my books - went through it so quickly) - love games like half life, GTA3, UT anything really... if someone sits me down in front of a ps with any tony hawk pro skating game im glued for hours....

I think alot of girls are intimidated by the whole boy dominated game thing - I wish more of my female friends would play vid games for sure.... there needs to be more of us eheh but there are alot out there - dont be fooled, they just need to surface :)

strawb and i play "race driver" the new V8 one on PS2.. we love it.

but it is not just that game.. she loves all the games.

she also loves networked UT Tournament.

but as for her coming on this forum... i would have to ask her if she even knows about it.

It's hard not to be into gaming when all your boyfriends/brothers/mates live by the controller.

I'm really picky about what I play though. Some games I get into, others I don't. I don't really get into kiddie games either (except Donkey Kong and Mario- but that's a nostalgia thing)
