ive played it and its pretty cool..

its better then number 3 but not a huge leap...

I prefer the gt3 soundtrack, mainly cause it had royce 59 my fav rapper on it , and MC scibidee....

put the car will float cheat on.... turns cars into hovercrafts... its way cool, and ya can just skip over to other islands.... im a cheat hehe

All I need to do now for all the missions is the dockyard asset, where you drive the boat through all the packages... too hard though :(

One thing I would LOVE is to find some way to reveal where the remaining hidden packages are. I have 99 of them so there is one I missed somewhere :(

BTW, the Rhino is only on self destruct on Cortez' "Sir Yes Sir" mission, once you unlock it by getting the 90 hidden packages, it does not self destruct. To get on the Military Base without getting shot at by the army, steal the cop uniform.

Killing Diaz is the best mission so far and that is where I am up too..

I can buy properties alright but as yet I can't buy any businesses, do you have to do extra missions before you can buy businesses or do they just open later in the game ??

Can anyone help me with this bit..

And Mayday, there is an Australian PS2 hint mag for GTAVC and it has the locations of all the packages in it...

Just out on interest, did you get the one down the side of Diaz's mansion, right on the water behind the maze.. ???

I have got a map where you can find all the hidden packages, and I have ALL of them... I believe I have the misfortune of finding a bug :( I have circled the map and looked again and again with no luck. The package by My (not Diaz ;)) mansion was an easy one...

You wont be able to buy businesses until you do the mission where you whack Diaz and take over his estate. Heres a tip, use the Spaz shotgun...

Once you finish the Vercetti Missions (you have to whack Lance Vance and then Sonny Forelli) you unlock the Hunter from the Air Base... *drool*

i am a numpty when it comes to games like this - but i can't for the life of me finish the mission where you have to recue lance from the wasteyard. I can rescue him easily but as soon as i get to the intersection down from the yard i get wasted by the hoons in the car. Even if i jump in the trashmaster i get blown up half way down the highway.

how did you all finish it?

BTW the OPS2 aus hints mag is fucking great.

Tristan, I used the uzi and a lamborgini looking car...

Hoon at the car blocking the entrance and wipe out the car and as many guys as you can before the car catches fire, get out and kill the rest while running and aiming with the Uzi. Get the guy on top of the tractor cause he will kill Lance in one shot.. now you've got that far.. so..

Once you get Lance, jump in the car next to the hanger, make sure all the gang dudes are dead or you will get shot up before egtting back to the street. Once you exit the compund take the first right, over the bridge and through the buildings til you get back to the road, because you didn't go straight up the road from the entrance to the compound the other gang folks don't chase you.. take your time and egt him to hospital..

I had a really hard time with the escape until I tried a different route.....

i suggest investing in a sniper rifle and perhaps a few grenades.

finished the game (story missions only, not packages, jumps, etc...) aboot a week ago. good fun, but a tad short. the attack hellicopter is ace though - the vigilante missions kick ass.

On my stats I have done 56% of the games, I own most of the property and have completed most of the property levels except for the boat yard, car yard and cherry poppers and I have done all of the levels offered to me but for some reason I havent recieved the phone call so that I can do the last two remaining levels???

Any ideas what I still have to do?

moneypenneys - have u done the print works? that's the important one i think. the car yard is a piece of piss - just deliver the 1st consignent of cars to the garage, boat yard requires a bit of practice, cherry poppers is pretty annoying - just look out for cops and PIGS - PIGS will turf you out of the car even when you have no stars... hate that sh1t. You need to deliver 50 or 60 "ice creams".

I've "completed" the game but my % rating is probably the same as yours. its also related to the number of ambulance, taxi, fire truck, vigilante missions + secret packages, extreme stunts.

From what I am told I should recieve a call on my mobile and then I have to take out Lance and then onto the last mission.

SPOILERS!!!

The printworks is essential, because you need to get the counterfiet money to pay Sonny Forelli.

You also need to have done about 60% completion before you get the call from Lance Vance t come to the Vercetti Estate.

Tip for final mission, have the Python and SPAZ shotgun. Use the python to kill all the mafia as they approach your office room with the safe. When Lance comes, shoot him with the spaz. Chase him to the roof, but when you go outside, run straight back in, or else you will die because there are shitloads of guys who want to fill you with lead there.

Find a heli, and go to you mansion and land on the western end of your roof, ie away from the door leading inside, use the spaz to kill the guys, but concentrate your fire on lance. You must use the Spaz because no other weapon has the power/rate of fire to kill him. After you kill lance, you need to kill Sonny Forelli. Dont go back inside the house, but fly your heli to hospital to refill your health, and get some armour too. Fly back to your mansion, and use the Python to kill any mafia you see as you reenter from the roof.

Once again, use the spaz and concentrate all your fire of Forelli. Once he dies, the mission is complete and you get a cutscene, so you dont need to worry about the other guys.

Now, can someone help me by finding the final hidden package? I have used the map on www.gamefaqs.com and have been to all the places, but I only have 99 packages. I think I have hit a bug :(

The helicopter is unlocked at the air base after the final Vercetti Mission. It is NOT on the helipad, but on the far northern section of the base.

The Hunter is unlocked in other places on the map when you get all 100 hidden packages.

When you finish the "Keep your friends close" mission, the Hunter appears in the Northern End of Fort Baxter.

When you get 100 hidden packages (I have bug which only allowed me to get 99, despite going and rechecking all the locations again :() the Hunter appears at the Helipad on the Southern end of the first island, near the Pole Postition Strip Club, and *possibly* and the Vercetti Estate.

I've done all Vercetti missions, whacked Lance and Sonny and now i can't find the Hunter, I've flown all over the air base with no luck, when you say far north of the base, do you mean within in the fences still ??
I went through the front and looked all over the compound, then flew all around the base and couldn't see it either, all I can see past the fence of the compund is grass to the water... :? :? :? :? :?

Its on the far northern end, in between the wall and the fence. It is north east of the barracks building, and west of a canvas tent thingy.

I suggest getting the cop uniform and landing a heli in that area, the cop uniform will stop people shooting you.

Getting 100 packages does one of two things:
If you have not completed "Keep your friends close" it unlocks the hunter at the barracks.
If you have, it unlocks it at the barracks (already done because you have done the last mission) an also at the helipad on Ocean Beach, but I have a feeling you may need to own Ocean Heights apartments for that one.

Yep I got ya. What you do is walk the sanchez up to the incline and make sure it is straight on. Then just walk the bike back until you have the required distance for the speed needed and you are aligned perfectly straight to the incline. They are pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Good luck :)

i have the aus version and the only thing i cant do that i could in gta 3 is pick up working girls, i can still drive by, stab people with screwdrivers(couldnt do that in the first one but :P ) i can buy the strip club the swearing is still there as is the blood, not sure what i am missing out on if anyone can fill me in as well?

I got mine from NZ, as I have only played the NZ version, I can not comment on the differences.

However, it only cost about $10 more than Aussie, and by the time you drive to the game shop, find a park, waste your time etc, the $10 is already covered. Also, isnt the extra $10 worth it by the fact you can pick up hookers? :)

I'm at the mission called "messing with the man". It's the one where you have 1 and 1/2 mins to run amok and fill up the "chaos meter" to prove what a bad ass you are.

I just don't get what you have to do to get the chaos meter up. I shoot people, smash cars, shoot shops, kill cops and in the end I have 5 or 6 police wanted stars before I get killed or busted but still have barely touched the chaos meter.

What do I have to do to cause chaos?

to cut a long story short, get a big vehicle (bus, barracks ol, etc) and shoot the crap outta it with a submachine gun.

Re : messing with the man, I found that after walking out of the biker bar, using the Uzi, shoot everyone, including the biker standing behind you, that seems to get the meter moving. Once the cops arrive, shoot them and blow up their cars with a shot gun, you will probably have 3 stars now. Shoot the helicopter that is bound to pop by, continue to shoot and blow up the FBI and the police.. If your health gets low, run the the southern end of the street and grab the sheild that is in the garage like thing. Then I tended to stand in there and blow up anything that went past. I found the trick is to never stop shooting something or someone, if you can manage to constantly cause distruction without dying you will complete it in less than the two minutes. If you pause and stop destroying things the meter starts to go backwards..

For the ambulance do it at Washington Beach (?) hospital, the one at the bottom end of the east island.

Firetruck is probally easiest in Downtown. Once you learn what streets NOT to go done (not many interconnecting ones if you go the wrong way) its hell easy. That or Vice Point.

its easy, really

instead of rushing in like a blind man with a chainsaw step back a few hundred yards and use the sniper rifle

if you go around the street near the jewlery shop, theres a unit block with some stairs that face where the car is parked. simply drive around the guys (using a different street so as not to attract attention to yourself) and then snipe the driver of the car in the head (the important bit). once thats done, snipe the other guy as he gets out of the car. if you have rockets (can be found at the hooker hotel) then use those instead for an even faster method.

dont rush in, pick off your targets.

get a minigun, run to the main road and let loose...
it helps to do this around peak hour too ;) more things to blow up

Arrrghhhhhh!

Why are there so many glitches/bug in this damn game? (just like the last one).

I did have 31 Unique jumps complete, all of a sudden I now have 27!!! I wouldnt mind if I actually knew which jumps I needed to do again, but because I dont, I need to do all the ones Ive done just to be sure. GRRRR!!! X(

As per my previous posts issue, with 27 jumps done, and 3 stores left to rob, my completion is up to 92%. Therefore the jumps must make a significant portion of the completion score.

I like GTA: Vice City, it's a very well made game, one of a kind, and anyone who says 'The Getaway' is better is weird cuz i find The Getaway is very limited in gameplay compared to vice city.

Just got 100%

One thing that got me, when I was pulling my hair out at 99%, is that you need to score 45 or more on the Rifle Range mini game in Ammu Nation in Downtown.

I thought that completing the "Shooter" mission for the Malibu (I think) would have met this, but it didnt. It must be done seperatley, and again from the Mission in the range.

One question though..

Try and pump your criminal and media ratings up.

For criminal I was at about 7000 when i gto 100%. Highest rank is at 500,000. I found an easy way to crank the numbers (and your money) right up. Just ask if your interested. :)

Im interested wet carboard...

Ive got my Media attention to "stuff of legends" but my criminal rating is only about 5000.

What I have been doing is getting the hunter and causing a general ruckus.

Get the Hunter, fly over the Airport and then start the vigilante. Once you get to level 12 the cars keep spawning in the same place and if you get lucky this will be right in the middle of the airport.

Theres no buildings to crash into, no streets to follow the cars down and you can just fly around and blow them up as they spawn.

I think that the criminal rating is related to how much money your making at a time. After about 30 mins you're making half a million dollars for every vigilante level and cash and your rating just start sky rocketing.

That makes sense...

from what I can gather, your media attention is determined by how long you can maintain a wanted level without being busted.

You can only get the higher stuff (above page 4 of UFA today) by having a 6 star level and keeping on blowing things up at the same time... Easy in the Hunter! :)

I found an easy way to get media attention and steal tanks/FBI Cheetahs. Basically, get yourself a rocket launcher+30 rockets or so, the M4 with around 600 ammo, the MAC10 with around the same amount of ammo, and the PSG1 with 30 or so ammo. Make sure you also own the Hyman Condo, and the Sunshine Autos caryard (with a car in a garage there). Go to the Hospital near the Downtown Ammu-Nation (near the Hyman Memorial Stadium). Climb up the ramp behind the ambulance on the side of the hospital, and walk up to the far end. Take out some cops with the sniper rifle, to get yourself to 2-stars. Use the M4 to keep taking out cop cars until you get 3 stars. Use your rocket launcher to take out the helicopters that follow, and switch back to shooting the cars with your M4 and cops on foot with your MAC10. After doing this for a while (the car AI isn't intelligent enough to drive up the ramp to get you), you should get 6 stars - and every time I've done this, the place has never really been swarming with cops.

If you want a tank, run down, clear the area of cops with your MAC10, and then shoot at the glass front of the closest tank with your M4. The soldiers will get out, so take them out with either your M4 or your MAC10, and then jump into the tank and drive it to the Hyman Condo. Put it in the garage, run up to the roof, and jump into the helicopter. Once you've done this, fly to Sunshine Autos, park in the back in front of a garage, and drive a car straight into the spray shop. There go your 6 stars, and you now have a tank!

If you want an FBI Cheetah, just stand next to the car and wait for the driver(s) to get out, and then kill them. Drive it to your garage, and follow the above directions to get rid of your stars.

This should take around 15 minutes, depending on how fast you can get up to 6 stars.

You can get the Vice Cheetah after only 3 stars. It is much easier to escape with 3 stars than what it is with 6! Especially with Barracks OLs and Rhinos chasing you.

You can do vigilante missions in the Vice Cheetah, and it is also repairable by the Pay and Spray. I think it is the best choice for Vigilante missions, that is if you have not unlocked the Hunter or the Rhino yet.
