Internationals in Brisbane late Dec/early Jan?

Hey guys!

I'm a Sydney lad who'll be up missioning up north at the end of the year and will no doubt find myself in your hood for some of my trip.

Since I'll be missing all the big international acts that'll be in Sydney for NYE and NYD I'm wondering whether any of them will be doing shows in Brisbane around this time. There was no info in the ITM 'what's on' section for this period.

Heard a rumour about Emerson/Morillo on NYD - has this been confirmed?

Also interested to know about Digweed, Fingerlickin' crew, Ian Pooley, Bob Sinclar & DJ Yellow etc...

Also, any details you have about how to get tickets would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah another strapping young lad and his lass from sunny Sydney will also be instate.

How about it Brisbane any ideas other then wishful thinking .ie the re-emergence of "Underworld" with Darren Emerson or the Chemical Brothers on NYE - yes that would be nice but it ain't ever going to happen.

Does any one have any news or gossip that is possibly factual ?

The only thing I know of so far is Plump DJ's @ Family with a fair few of the other DJ's from their label..... try www.thefamily.com.au

oh yeah, and Karim and Steve Gibbs (Platipus) @ Circus-X.....apart from that very little has been released so far.......try www.adventjah.com.au

I'm a Melbourne lad coming up to Brisbane for the next couple of months "work committments". I had a look at the Family site and it looks like a great club.

I've also read what you guys have said about some of the other clubs in Brisbane like Mantra, etc.

I generally like my progressive house, funk house, some techno and trance as well. Would these be the type of clubs I should try while I'm up in Brisbane. Any other's I should have a look at.

Last year I was in Brisbane and only got to go to The Press Club. I actually liked it, but they tend to play more mellow funk and commercial house.

we are actually starting a new weekly Sat nite club called SPACE which will be at Moskva Bar - starting on 8 December. Very much on the progressive house tip so get in there !

Its a small venue (about 200) but has a nice feel about it with the bonus of a courtyard out the back.

Its about four doors down from The Beat in Ann St The Valley.....

also chek out Mantra in The Valley Mall, Family (which is now doing harder euro style sounds on Fridays), The Empire, Ja Ja's has occasional progressive nights, breaks nights, and house nights........

Sounds like my kinda thing. You never know, I might even put pen to paper and write an ITM review for the night. Unless another reporter beats me to it :)

we are also starting a new night at the moskva bar on Fri nights called 'SUKOTASH'. a night of deep tekfunk, it will feature dj's lestadt, pete weise and clint hargreaves plus guests. official opening night will be Dec 14 featuring guest dj patrick h.a.f (southern outpost/sydney).
think 'fokus'
also, i'll be playing some deep, funky house next fri nov 23@ kitchen in melb from 10pm onwards, just after j'nett. if youre in the area come in and ill shout ya a drink.

thanxs a million. I'm actually looking forward to experiencing a dance scene other than Melbourne. Melbourne is great, but I also think other states have plenty to offer too. Brisbane here I come :) See you at Room on Saturday.
