DON'T CHIP!!
i'm not a christian or anything but just go to www.megagames.com and read in the forums there about consoles being chipped. I've read so many threads that have people pleading for some advice on how to fix theire ps2 and xbox after being chipped. Its not worth taking the risk
Michaeldenna,
If your not a Christian or hold shares in Sony or Microsoft, why the major concern?? Have you had your machine stuffed up by a backyard modder. You have no idea what your talking about.
I think everyone knows that putting a chip in your Xbox or PS2 has some risks, but if done properly, the chances of anything going wrong are quite minimal. I got my PS1 modded in 98 and its still going strong today, and my PS2 modded for over a year now, and has skipped a beat..
As with all electrical goods, anything/something could break down, stop working etc etc with or without a mod chip.
Just some advice to people, dont take my word for it or Michaels word on the subject of getting a mod chip installed.
Check out various PS2 Forums & Xbox forums and read up on the pros and cons of installing a mod chip in your machine. You will find a hell of alot more satisfied customers, and the one's crying foul have usually been stung by shoddy backyard inexperienced installers.
Also genuine experienced modders will always replace your console with a brand new one if they happen to damage it.

Check your PM Taz....
If you like VC, you might like The Getaway, haven't played it much, but it looks like it might be a decent game.

Hey MrXTC, sorry I lost your PM. Can you get the matrix chip, or was that someone else? thanks :)
And also, what are the limitations of having to use a 256k bios?
Hey Nicko...
The Matrix chip:is a no solder modchip that has spring loaded contacts
that need to be aligned to solder points(LPC connector points) & then the chip is screwed down to the x-box motherboard.Problem is that aligning is tedious,& if u get it to work, then bumped the x-box,the alignment(the chip) may move & you have to re-open the x-box & relaign.Considering these cost more than a LPC mod(soldered),they are not recommended or useful,in my opinion.
BIOS(256K):The limitation would exist only if a bios greater than 256k is released, then obviously u would need a bigger chip. The Xecutor has 1MB memory, but all Bios's to date are within 256K,so why get something bigger if it may never be used or needed.
PM me if u have any further questions..
Cheers
