what's the opinion out there on the proposed banning of eminem from touring here?

i think the guy's a GENIUS lyricist / storyteller / artist, and banning his cartoon-like depictions of anti-social behaviour would be like banning 'once were warriors' or 'romper stomper', the art of damien hirst or that 'piss christ' bloke, the writing of irvine welsh or marquis de sade, or the bloody itchy & scratchy show...

What happened to freedom of speech?

The cronies have got it all wrong. While I'm not an Eminem fan, his lyrics are powerful albeit crass at times. What do the powers that be believe will happen after preventing him play? What purpose is there? Do they think fans will riot in the street, go on a shooting spree or something similar.

After all, Australia is an amazing place, and when we see rioting in America, or Scandinavia, yet we don't have issues here - we must be breeding people the right way, but banning audio waves is bullshit.

but how dodge does he sound on the tv ads for the shows ? one came on tv the other night and the people I was watching with were all shaking our heads.

i don't really give a @!#$ whether he's allowed into the country or not. however, the simple truth is that he's currently on probabation in the US for threatening people with a gun (proving he's an absolute fuckwit!!!), and that's a good enough reason for the australian immigration department to deny him entry.

If he gets banned here then all I can say is the people involved are a bunch of low life scum that don't want his fans to see him and it will be a sad day. If you don't like the guy then just get the fu_ck on with your own lives and let us live ours and take in all that can be offered to us crude or not.
