Most of us are inclined to enjoy a few shifty beers before heading out. Personally i am a sucker for beers. What about you?

My regular beer is Extra Dry with Coopers Pale comin in at second.

Then at the end of the night it degrades to VB, Spumante and goon.

I used to hate beer but once I aquired the taste I found it kinda useful to have an alternative to drinking sugar water, wine and cider all night.:p

Go the good beers for the start of the night then steadily get cheaper because you won't taste the difference later on (...stupid home terrace in syd has like 9 buck beers...you'll end up selling your 1st born before you get tanked). Then if you find you start to fill up on beer then shift to spirits.

Being a former Adelaidian, Pale Ales aren't that much cheaper than here. Being a Premium beer, same price around Oz from my experience, although harder to get the further from Adelaide you get.

Had some great times on Pale Ales as a mate is part of the Coopers family, so never went dry anytime thats for sure !

For my lil brothers 18th, we had him in a cab on the way home by 7:24.

We bought a pint of kilkenny, poured half out into a schooner glass, and topped the glasses up with scotch and grenadine. He was then asked to consume the contents of the glasses in front of the family before giving a speech.

all my new year eves in highschool: i passed out before 12.

there is a picture of one of my housemates at his uni college passed out on the floor in the toilet. Not only is he covered in vomit, but the entire floor AND the wall is also covered in his vomit. Goon of fortune Rocks my world.

For those uninitiated few:

Goon of fortune involves purchasing a the box of wine (goon)and then removing the silver bladder (Goonbag). The goon bag is tied to a clothes line (of the hills hoist rotating variety). Players stand around the clothesline. The first player spins the clothesline whilst yelling Goon- Of- Fortune, lets it whirl and whomever the bag lands in front of is required to drink from said goonbag. They are then nominated to spin thec clothesline and the game continues.

At 6am in a backyard when trashed, it provides hours (or minutes actually) of entertainment!

The best goon in the world would have to be Sunnydale Fruity lexia. Though Wein Valley is not bad (all ringing in at around $8 for four litres).

I avoid like the plague as much as possible VB cause it really tastes like crap in comparison, and is only worth drinking when you've had a few too many already.

If it's spirits then Scoth and Coke is the way, though Bourbon is alright or vodka orange. Oh and I'm never touching Southern Comfort again :(

King O'Malleys make an interesting beer cocktail that has Beer, Cider, Red Cordial and something else in it, it's called a snake bite or something like that.

I'm pretty sure that pang has some stories about passion pop being consumed that are intersting.

Oh, my son. Cannot agree more. Except on the Resch's. Not a big fan. Been hanging in Belco for the last week or two, drinking away my dole cheques. I have found that pints of Carlton Draught from the lighthouse, with a solid backing of Tooheys NEw Longies (okay, not the biggest fan of the beer, but at $5 for two longies, you really can't complain.) will keep you in a constant state of drunken stupidity pretty easily.

Mmmmmm Beer. My one true love.

PS, one must not forget the incredible charm of Becks. It's fantastic.

mmmm. Coopers is a good beer. Lots of sediment in the bottles which is a bit annoying, but i guess you can roll em around to mix it up a bit (without all of the foam).

PassionPop is the goods. Once again I have enjoyed the Passion flavoured wonders of this lightly carbonated sparkling wine...

Wine is very good. However I must say that one of the worst drinks ever made is in a wine form.... beware all of you who havent come across this little number - altho id be very surprised if you havent at the age of ooh 13 or 14. My second time ever drinking on my 14th birthday I was looking in the isle for some passion pop. I had heard of its amazing qualities. However I was quite distrought to see another pack of underages walk out the store with the last five bottles and all that was left in my price range was the fun looking but bad sounding Spewmante.

I hesitated but only for a second (I was 14) and Im telling you now I lived up to the name of the drink. BEWARE ALL 13-14 yr olds!!!!!
